Blinking blearily Riley forced her eyes open, she was met with bright white lights hitting her eyes as they opened. After letting her eyes adjust she was able to see the white ceiling tiles above her, looking around she saw multiple machines that you would normally find in a hospital sitting around her. A steady beeping came from the machine beside her.
Wondering how she had wound up in the hospital she tried to remember the events leading up to waking up. There was a sting in her shoulder, she had a bit of a headache, and her eyebrow had a bit of a sting as well. Then there was her left hand, it ached deep and steadily. Glancing down she caught a glimpse of her hand, where her pointer finger and middle finger were supposed to be instead was empty air.
It all came rushing back then, the demogorgon, and Will, being chased by the dogs, having to cut off her fingers. Looking at them they seemed to be cut off at about where her middle knuckle was on each finger. She had gotten lucky, being able to cut through at the knuckle. There was no way she would've been able to saw straight through the bone as quickly as she needed to. But being able to cut through the knuckle she just had to cut through the tendons and pull and her finger was disconnected.
She turned then pulling at the wires around her trying to get out of the bed. She had to talk to someone, she had to save Will. Pulling off the heart monitor there was a sudden alarm noise that went off. People rushed quickly into her room, all ready to save her life she presumed but they were met with her awake and trying to get out of the bed. One of the nurses rushed forward pushing her back into the bed.
"No, Will, he needs help. They have him. I know where they have him." She told the people gathered around her, she seemed to have caught the attention of one tall man standing in the back. He was the only one not wearing a lab coat, he was in a black suit with his gray hair slicked back. He pushed forward to the girl then the doctors parted easily for him.
"What do you mean they have him?" He questioned her.
"The demogorgons and their stupid little dogs." She told him, "they have him. He's still alive." The man then stood up with a nod.
"Check her out to make sure she's good, then we will take her to see them." He told the doctors, then left the room. Riley sat there confused looking at the door as the doctors around her scrambled around checking her vitals. Asking her question after question. Finally after they were finished with the checks everyone left the room except a nurse who handed her a pair of gray sweat pants and a green t-shirt that a nurse would wear.
Being no longer attached to a million different machines she was able to stand much easier. Her legs were a bit wobbly but she was able to change easily enough. A few times she bumped a cut or bruise or tried to use her left hand making a burning pain go through her arm, which caused her to suck in a breath but before long she was changed.
She walked out to the hallway looking around for anyone and was met with a big guy decked out in a military uniform. Without a word he started walking down the hallway leading her down past doors and through more hallways. She recognized some of the halls but tried not to think about it too hard knowing if she followed that train of thought she wouldn't be able to escape.
Finally they approached the tall man that had been in her room earlier. "Ah, good we can get this trade over with now." He told her with a smile before reaching out and opening the door they were standing in front of. As soon as Riley was able to see inside the room she almost collapsed in relief. There stood her dad, Joyce and Hopper, all looking at her in relief. She bolted forward plowing into her dad who dropped down meeting her with open arms. They clutched onto each other, some sniffles were heard from the hug coming from both of them relieved to see the other.
