Heeseung - January 2nd, 2026I jolted awake from the sound of my phone ringing. Sunoo was calling. I swallowed at my dry throat and quickly answered, making no effort to sound presentable. "Hey."
"Hey, Heeseung. Today's your day off, right?"
"Yeah. Same with Jungwon. You trying to meet up or something?" My voice sounded obnoxiously gritty. I ran a hand through my dry, messy hair.
"Um, actually...Do you think you could give me a ride?" Sunoo asked, a tinge of hesitancy in his voice.
"Where?"
"I have an interview for that job I was telling you about."
"Oh, already?" I smiled, finally getting up from my bed. I stretched my arms over my head as he continued.
"Yep. It's like twenty miles away," he laughed awkwardly into the speaker. "It's not too much to ask, is it?"
"Uh," I hesitated as I flipped through the many shirts in my closet. "Just this once, right?"
"Oh, of course," Sunoo giggled. "I can take the bus if I get the job."
"Ah, okay. That's fine then. What time?"
"In like..." Sunoo paused, which I'm assuming he was checking the time. "...two hours."
"Alright," I yawned. "I'll let Jungwon know."
"Thanks, Hee. I'll make it up to you, I promise." I could tell by his voice that he was upset. Probably because he hated asking me for favors.
"Don't worry about it," I chuckled. "I would've just slept all day. I don't mind."
"Okay," Sunoo replied, sounding a bit more relieved this time. "Thanks again."
We said our goodbyes and hung up. I tossed my phone onto my messy bed and stomped out of my room and into the bathroom. To which I instantly noticed a giant puddle of what I hoped was just water next to the tub. "Jungwon!" I shouted.
No answer. I grit my teeth and approached his door, beating on it with my tight fist. "Jungwon!"
Again, no answer. Maybe he wasn't home?
I hesitantly twisted the knob, squeezing my eyes shut just in case. When there wasn't a protest, I glanced around the room. Nothing notable, other than the tissues scattered around the room and three bottles of lube on the nightstand. Only God knows why they needed that much. I was nowhere near curious. "Jungwon?" I nearly whispered, which expectantly had no response. Normally he'd tell me when he was leaving, and I knew today was also his day off. No sign of Jay, either.
I tried to shrug it off, heading back to the bathroom and tossing a few towels onto the puddle before struggling with my frizzy hair. The purple locks were nearly sticking up by this point. I knew that I should just take a shower, but for some reason I was hesitant because of the mess. And whatever went down in that fucking tub. It's not like it's my interview. It didn't matter how I looked. I gave up and brushed my teeth instead for a few minutes. I contemplated changing, but I chose to be lazy instead. White tee and basketball shorts it was, as well as a beanie to cover of my unruly hair.
