Heeseung - March 5th, 2026

"Well, look who it is," Jungwon grinned as I stepped into the apartment. He was seated with, of course, Jay on the sofa. "Where did you go?"

"Jake's house," I replied nonchalantly as I placed my keys in their proper place next to the door.

"What?"

I glanced over at the duo, which Jungwon had his jaw dropped to the floor. Jay, of course, was nonchalant as usual. I slid off my shoes and joined them on the couch.

"Did you..." Jungwon started, wiggling his brows.

"No. We just watched a movie," I shrugged.

"Who's this Jake guy?" Jay asked as he yawned.

"Sunoo's boss. He's like, super into Heeseung," Jungwon explained, smirking at me at the same time.

"I thought he was married?" Jay glanced over to his boyfriend. "Didn't you say that you saw him at that restaurant we went to?"

"There's no way. I asked him if he was single and he said yes," I replied.

"But I saw him with a woman at a restaurant earlier this week," Jungwon reiterated to me with a serious tone.

I furrowed my brows at the statement. There was no way, right? Was he really married, and would he actually lie about something like that? "Are you sure?"

"I think so. I mean, I saw him with this super pretty woman there when I went with Jay on like, Monday or something. I couldn't remember who he was until we left," Jungwon explained, cuddling closer into Jay's arm as he spoke.

My stomach burned from the statement, but I was still having a hard time believing that Jake was married. "Are you sure it wasn't his sister or something?"

"Do you kiss your sister, Heeseung?" Jungwon chuckled before composing himself. So no. Not his sister. Hopefully.

"Maybe I can ask Sunoo to talk with him about it at work tonight? He never mentioned a wife," Jungwon suggested, running both of his hands through his hair. His eyes were full of shock, nearly as surprised as I was.

"Don't bother," I replied. "I'll talk to him myself."

.   .   .   .   .

It was nearly midnight at this point. I was trying to get some sleep, but it was pointless. I was thinking about Jake. The way he fucking lied to my face like that. I knew he was too good to be true.

Every time. Every time I think I find someone worthwhile they spit in my face like this. It felt hopeless to keep trying to date. To keep stringing myself along with these unhinged, closeted men. I'm sick of this life.
