Niki - May 4th, 2026Early that morning after a very light amount of sleep, I popped right out of bed with ease. I knew it'd be a long day.
I glanced behind me, noticing Heeseung still fast asleep, his cute face only half concealed by the blankets.
All I wanted was for him to stay, but now that Jake was here, I was pretty sure I wouldn't have him for much longer.
I knew I shouldn't have caught feelings again.
I quietly tiptoed out of the bedroom, finding Jake already wide awake, staring down at his phone. He didn't even acknowledge my presence as I joined him in the kitchen.
Though I hated the fact that him and Heeseung had such an intense history together, I couldn't stay mad at him. After all, he was literally stabbed yesterday. I think he has enough problems.
I reluctantly leaned next to him at the counter, causing him to finally glance up at me. "How's your arm?"
"Sore," Jake chuckled, glancing down at the bandage. "But it's a bit better now. I think."
"You really need to go to the doctor," I sighed, the both of us becoming distracted as Heeseung quickly came out of the bedroom.
"Hey," he greeted dryly, immediately going to the fridge for the jug of tea. "What are you guys talking about?"
"I'm trying to get him to go to the doctor," I replied, glancing back at Jake with insistency.
"You just want me to leave, huh?" He asked sarcastically, but his karma hit immediately as he accidentally bumped his injured arm. "Ow-"
"Yeah, you're going to the doctor today," Heeseung agreed, pouring himself a large drink before throwing the pitcher haphazardly back into the fridge.
"But-"
"No buts. You're going."
"Isn't my car at your place though?" Jake asked, which seemed more like an excuse.
"You can take mine," I suggested, reaching for my keys on the counter and sliding them towards him.
"Really?" Jake furrowed his brows with skepticism.
"Yeah. I can buy a new one if you crash it like a dumbass."
"Ugh. You are insufferable," Heeseung rolled his eyes and slapped me in the arm, giving me a hearty glare as Jake exited the kitchen.
"Well, thanks, I suppose. I'll be back later then," Jake shrugged as he stepped out of the apartment, leaving Heeseung and me in an awkward silence.
With that, Heeseung left the room and slumped onto the sofa, sighing as I sat down next to him. "What's your problem?"
