I got to my Art class and seen my art buddy. I placed my bag next to the easel and sat down.

"Hey girl." She smiled and I smiled back.

"Hey, Celeste."

Celeste Pierre, Haitian born and gorgeous. She is a Dance and Art major. Her dance skills are amazing and the friend group enjoys her dancing at the studio on our free time. She takes dancing very seriously that it's kind of scary when she tries to teach the other students who want to be part of her dance crew. She had black to blue box braids and she was glowing. She has an hourglass figure and sharp facial features. We had a very diverse friend group and that's what I liked about this college. University of Miami is so diverse, filled with every race possible and every gender identified person part of the LGBTQ community.

"I can't wait to see what new art assignment Mrs. Williams has for us."

"Same. I hope this new assignment is going to be Halloween related."

"I agree and what are you doing for Halloween?"

"I'm going to the Halloween party." She twitched at second and I knew she was processing my words.

"Yes, I know. I am getting dragged by Cat to this party."

"You never once went to an Evans College Party since the start of college."

"Yeah, I wanted to keep it that way but recently I've wanting to get out of the house and loosen up so I'll just go and have a few drinks and have fun with my friends this one time."

"Wait, is Andres and Liam going?" She asked.

"Yes, Liam also said if I wanted to leave early, he would take me back to the dorms." I said.

"Liam is such a sweetheart."

"His girlfriend is going to be a lucky girl." We giggled.

"Do you want to join Cat and I for Halloween shopping today after classes?"

"Yes. Girl's shopping trip. I am all for it." I laughed lightly and class started.

"Hello, class. For this art project, I want you to use the canvas in front of you to paint me something Halloween related. I will be displaying it in the case outside the art room so start. Now." We started looking for the colors we wanted, and I plugged my headphones in for music. I immediately started sketching the woods and a tree having a swing hanging off it. It was just me and this canvas in front of me. No one else and it was peaceful. I felt at ease and art brought that comfort to me. I wanted to do something Halloween related and that told a story deep down if you stared at the painting long enough to understand the meaning behind it.

I leaned back and tilted my head to study the sketch for a few seconds before doing the outline of the moon before I started to paint. I feel like if someone blindfolded me and told me to paint something, I would be able to and do it well. I have that much confidence in my art skills. I back the sky a blackish blue color. I let it dry while painting the river going between the trees and while that was drying, I went back to making small white dots as the stars in the sky. I then worked on the trees which was my favorite part. I always loved painting and drawing trees. I haven't figured out why, but I will one day. I decided to pause on my art and take a small snack break. I drank my water and ate my pretzels before washing my hands to get back to painting. I painted the swing and let it dry before painting ghosts around the swing and leaves falling. I finished by painting a girl on the swing. I waited for it to be fully dry before putting my name at the bottom and a protective layer of gloss and let it dry. I smiled at my work and then I checked the time to see 5 minutes left of class. 2:55pm. I placed my art carefully on the table and Mrs. Williams stood next to me.
