Rosie Lesley's View;
"Rosalie, Hayes is going to be here soon!" My mother called from the kitchen, as she was cooking dinner for herself.
I took one last look in the mirror. My white blouse and skinny jeans had to be good enough for the town fair. If it wasn't, I don't know what would be.
Just then the doorbell rang, dang! I didn't even put my makeup on yet and I didn't get to pick out a pair of converse! This is going to be a disaster. Quickly, I applied mascara. This had to be good enough.
"Rosalie, Hayes is here! Don't keep him waiting!" My mother called from downstairs, followed along with her nervous laughter.
"It's great to see you again, Mrs.Lesley." I heard Hayes say, as I grabbed my white pair of converse.
"Please call me Haley." My mom said, closing the front door, obviously inviting him inside.
I sped out of my room and saw Hayes standing with a whole dozen of daises.
"You look gorgeous." Hayes complemented, smirking.
Feelings of happiness and joy bursts inside of me as my mother goes and takes them into a vase.
"Thank you." I gave a small smile.
Hayes wore a cloud pattern shirt, khakis, and his nikes.
Mother came back and smiled, "Be back by 11, okay? I'll be asleep by then so the key will be underneath the side mat."
"Alright Haley, I will get your daughter home safely and on time." Hayes giggles, opening the front door for me.
I thank him and I insist on opening the passenger door, but of course he locked it. And he only had the keys.
"I had to." Hayes laughed, unlocking the door, opening it, and closing it once I was in.
Hayes jogged around to his side, and jumped in. Soon we both leaned in, we haven't been seeing each other in school much with exams going on. So we kissed, for about a minute or so. It was nice.
Once we both pulled away, I giggled.
Hayes started his beat-up truck. "Are you sure that your parents are letting you drive?" I asked, a tiny bit nervous.
"Yea, Johnnie took my out yesterday to make sure I was good. He told me I was doing better, but I had to reduce my speed." Hayes told me, smiling.
After a few moments of silence of driving through the streets, "By the way, I'm buying the wrist bands."
"No way, Grier. That's 40$, you have to let me pay for my own." I argued, giving him a death glare.
"Nah, you don't have to worry about that. I got paid last week, and I've kept it just for tonight. I won't let you pay for a thing." Hayes smirked.
-
We had gone on all the rides twice already, and our dinner was Cotten candy, then we shared a slushy. Which Hayes drank most of it, but I didn't mind. It was way to much sugar for me.
"Tonight was great." Hayes whispered, as we stood outside his car, waiting for time to pass.
"Yea, it totally was." I replied, as his breath lingered on my neck.
After a couple moments Hayes finally spoke, "I think we should be heading home now. Its already 10:30."
I nodded, as I jumped into the beat up truck. The moon was high in the sky, watching over me. This night has the best, now let's hope it keeps going good.
