"Natalie are you feeling ok? You look kind of pale." Hermione noticed.
We were two hours away from the third and final task. I was petrified.
I swallowed dryly and nodded. "I'm fine." I smiled nervously.
There were loud and heavy footsteps behind us so we turned around to see Draco barreling towards us.
"I'm so sorry I'm late baby!" He cupped my face and gave me a kiss.
"Where were you?!" I freaked out hugging him tightly.
"In Snape's detention." He scratched the back of his head.
"Why?" I asked shocked.
"Me and the guys magically glued his cape to the floor." A smirk played across his face.
"Right, could you maybe have waited til tomorrow to do that?" I was angry that I almost didn't get to see him.
"I'm sorry baby. It won't happen again." He gave me another quick kiss.
"It is actually you this time right?" I asked. Last time I thought it was him, I was almost raped.
"Yes. I promise."
"Then tell me only something you would know." I crossed my arms.
"When we fucked a few days ago, your legs were trembling so much as you were about to-"
"Ok it's you!" I stopped him giving Hermione a pity smile. She did not have to witness that.
"You're going to be amazing my love." He had never called me that before but I wasn't complaining. I smiled and stood there in his arms for a few minutes.
Harry and Avery came in and told us it was time to head to the quidditch field where a thick maze had grown.
As we approached, we saw how big this was. The hedges were at least ten feet tall and they were super thick. They swayed slightly in the wind.
Everyone was cheering in the stands. We still had an hour to prepare but seeing this, it didn't seem that bad. I was good at mazes.
How hard could it possibly be?
We all stood around for a while calming ourselves down but, a few minutes before the task started, Draco, Hermione, Ron, and Avery had to go in the stands.
Harry and I stood with the other champions by the maze entrance preparing ourselves with our headmasters.
My eyes kept wandering over to Draco in the stands who was giving me a reassuring smile. I smiled back feeling better.
The music and cheerful noises stopped when Dumbledore yelled, "Silence!"
I could feel my heart throbbing against my chest.
"Earlier today, Professor Moody placed the Triwizard Cup deep within the maze. Only he knows its exact position. Now as Mr. Diggory and the Potters tied for first position, they will be the first to enter the maze, followed by Mr. Krum and Ms. Delacour." Dumbledore started talking.
"We got this." I whispered to Harry confidently. He nodded back at me and continued to listen to our teacher.
"First person to touch the cup, will be the winner! I've instructed the staff to patrol the perimeter. Should at any point a contestant wish to withdraw from the task, he or she need only send up red sparks with their wand." Dumbledore turned back to us. "Contestants, gather around. Quickly."
We all got in a huddle close to each other. I took Harry's hand to keep my composure.
"In the maze, you'll find no dragons or creatures of the deep, instead you'll face something even more challenging. You see, people change in the maze. Find the cup if you can but be very wary, you could just loose yourselves along the way."
