I wake up to the sound of Grover complaining.
"What?" I say in a sleepy tone.
"Grover needs food," Annabeth says.
We all start getting up and getting ready.
When we're at the trains eating area, Grover and Annabeth are sitting on the opposite side of me, I am sitting next to Percy.
Percy is sitting on the side of the window.
We were talking about our next move after the train makes it to our destination.
"Can I ask a dumb question?" Percy asks.
"It's like you need me to make fun of you," Annabeth says in a sarcastic tone.
"Sure," Grover says.
"If any of you guys haven't been to Las Angeles, which I assume you haven't," Percy started, "then how will we know where to go when we get there?"
"I don't know, but we'll cross that road when we get there," Grover said.
I will admit, I was thinking the same thing. I have never been to Las Angeles, and neither have they.
My thoughts were interrupted when they started looking out the window.
I also look out the window.
"Centaurs," Annabeth said in a soft tone.
"No one else can see them?" I ask, also in a soft tone.
Percy looks around, and nobody notices the Centaurs.
"No, they're not demigods," Grover says.
"And they just roam around like this all the time?" Percy asks.
"Yeah, the god of the wild, Pan went missing, the natural life have been looking for centuries, but no one has found him," Grover says.
"And that's what you want to do. Go look for Pan?" Percy asks.
"Yeah," Grover says.
Suddenly, a police officer comes toward us.
"Boarding pass, please," the officer says.
Annabeth goes through her bag and finds the paper that says out room number and gives it to the officer.
"Room 17?" The officer asks.
"Yeah," Annabeth says in a cautious tone.
"Im gonna need you to come with me," the officer says.
We follow the officers' orders and get up and follow the officer.
The officer led us to the room we stayed in for the night.
It was completely broken, the window was shattered, the bunk beds were about to fall, and it was a complete disaster.
"Did you cause this?" The officer asks.
"No." I say.
"Are we under arrest?" Annabeth asks in a strict tone while still looking at the mess.
"What was that young lady?" The officer asks also in a strict tone.
Annabeth looks up at the officer.
"Are we under arrest?" She says in a very strict tone.
The officer leads us back to the seats we were sitting at.
We sat in the same places we did for breakfast.
The officer was keeping close nods on us, so we couldn't talk about the monster thing because we all knew it wasn't us who did that to our room.
Suddenly the girl who was just talking to the officer came near our table.
"Oh, I think you're scaring the poor children, may you maybe step back so I could have a chat with them," the girl said as she touched my shoulder.
It felt really uncomfortable.
"Yeah, sure," the officer says and steps back and talks to the other officer.
"We didn't ruin the room," Annabeth started.
"I know you didn't, I just used that excuse so I could have a chat with you," the girl said.
"Then do you know who did it," I ask.
The lady looks toward the pouch thing that is supposed to hold a puppy.
Whatever is inside the pouch was growling, and the pouch was moving more than a puppy would.
I didn't understand at first.
But apparently, Annabeth, Grover, and Percy did.
As the girl kept talking, I became more and more suspicious.
"Your Echidna,"Annabeth said in a tone of realization. "The mother of monsters."
"Well, this has always been a story about family, hasn't it?" Echidna said.
Her pouch started moving more.
The zipper was unzipping on its own.
I stared at it in horror.
The creature started making noise, suddenly a what looked like an octopus tentacle sprawled out of the pouch.
The tentacle sprawled out and hit my shoulder, then went make in the pouch.
I was left in shock for a moment until we all started getting up and running.
I followed.
"Hey!" The officer said, starting to chase after us.
We crossed most of the train until we got to an exit door, so it was another hallway.
Annabeth closed the door and locked it so the police officers couldn't come in.
We are all trying to catch our breath.
My shoulder hurts a little, but not that bad.
"Y/n," Grover said, pulling out the needle type thing that was on my shoulder. "It's a stinger."
"Is it poisonous?" I ask.
"I'm not sure," Grover says.
Suddenly, there is a big load banging sound.
We all turn toward the officers, who are also looking in that direction.
I see a what looks like a Chimera running at full speed through the train.
"Run," Annabeth says, and we all start running out the train.
There was a door open on the train, so we exited it and ran through the train tracks.
"Why isn't it still following us?" Percy asks.
"Echidna said it's still young, so it won't venture too far from its parent," Annabeth says.
"So where to?" I ask.
"I have an idea on where to go, Follow me," Annabeth says.
