A camp half blood experience¹

Forbidden children meet their Father

Percy and I turned around to see our father, Poseidon, holding back Zeus' strike.

We could barely hear Poseidon say, "I surrender."

"What?" Zeus said, confused.

"I surrender," Poseidon said louder, gritting his teeth.

Zeus puts down his bolt.

The two brothers face to face.

This was one for the books.

"Excuse me?" Zeus says, confused.

"Spare the children. They're innocent," Poseidon says, "who else knows about father?"

Zeus starts speaking quietly in greek.

The only word I could understand because of how quiet they were was the word 'Father.'

Zeus then vanished, and posidon turned around and looked at Percy and I.

This felt very awkward.

I had so many questions, but I just didn't know how to ask..

"What were you saying?" Percy asks, "The only word I understood was Father."

"I see Chiron taught you some greek," Poseidon said.

I nodded, but Percy shook his head.

"Ah, your mother taught you," Poseidon said to Percy.

Percy now nodded.

I didn't know how to ask him the main question I had.

Why did I have two godly parents?

"Uh, may I ask you a question," I ask nervously.

Poseidon gives me the gesture of 'yeah, sure' so I ask.

I ask, "Why is it that I have two godly parents?"

"Well, I wish I could answer that, but sadly, I can not," Poseidon answers.

"Why not?" I ask.

"You will find out on your 16th birthday," he says.

16th birthday! I can't wait that long! I'm only 12!

"Anyway, you two should head back to camp-" Poseidon says.

"Before you do that, may I ask, do gods dream?" Percy asks.

"Why do you ask?" Poseidon asks.

"Ares told me gods don't dream."

"Well, Ares is a moron. Yes, gods do dream."

"Do you dream about mom?"

"Yes, a lot."

"Alright, we will meet again in the future, but you must return to camp." Poseidon continued saying.

Poseidon snaps his fingers, and the next thing I know, I'm at camp again.
