We are all sitting around in the back of the truck. It is very, VERY boring.
I haven't liked to just sit around ever since I went to Camp, I tried to stay productive.
Either it was learning advanced Greek mythology or sword practice. I always tried to keep my mind busy.
I knew by the time this quest was over, I would have a step sister.
Her name will be Caroline, unless my step mom wanted to change it.
I tried not to show that I was sad, I mean, it's not like Percy, whose mother is in the underworld with Hades.
Like, that just felt unfair for me to be sad about missing the birth of my step sister, when Percy is trying to get to his biological mother in time, and trying to stop a war, all at once. I had nothing to complain about.
I got so lost in thought that I didn't hear them start talking.
It wasn't until Annaneth shook my shoulder to bring me back to reality. I just remembered I was on a train.
"You good?" She asks.
"Yeah, just tired," I lied.
"You sure? You've been seeming kind of sad recently," she says.
Oh gods, it showed, now I really didn't know how to make up a lie. How would I lie about something like that.
What was I supposed to say?'I am sad because my dog died?' I didn't know.
Or maybe I just tell the truth, I mean, they were going to find out at one point.
I couldn't think of a lit quickly, so I decided to partially come clean.
"This week, during tue quest, my stepmother is going to have my step sister, Caroline, I promised her I would be there for her, and now I broke my promise," I said, that wasent even a fraction of the sadness I felt, but it made the most sense to say that part.
"I-i am sorry, um, you will still get to see Caroline and help raise her, ya know," Percy said. He didn't seem the type to help with this kind of stuff.
"Wait! Something I forgot to say, when you guys were at waterland, I managed to get some peek information out of Ares. From what I caught, Clarisse is the Theif," Grover said luckily, changing the subject.
"We have to get Camps attention," Annabeth says, "Grover, can you get me a crystal type thing, please."
"Yeah, sure," Grover says and looks around.
Grover picks up a crystal type thing.
"Found something, does this work," He asks.
"That'll do just fine," Annabeth says and grabs the crystal type thing.
She uses the light from the hole in the top of the truck to align it to the wall in front of us.
She asks the God or goddess to help cast camp half blood, I don't know, I didn't get this far into Greek mythology at Camp.
Then, in front of us is a live footage of Camp.
We can see Luke, I believe, is outside of the Hermes cabin.
"Luke," Annabeth says.
"Annabeth?" Luke says, looking around, then notices us through. I don't know.
"Luke, how is it a camp right now?" Annabeth asks.
"Not the best, it is getting really close to the dead line, Chiron has ordered camp to prepare for war. How close are you guys to getting to the master bolt?" Luke says.
"We are heading to Las Vegas," Percy starts, "we are going to see your fa-"
Annabeth closes the connection when Percy starts to talk about Hermes, Luke's father.
"Don't talk about his dad near him," Annabeth says after Percy gives her a 'what' kind of look.
"Why?" I ask.
"That's for him to say, not me," Annabeth says and flashes Grover a look.
I didn't know why Annabeth gave Grover a look after talking about Luke.
*Some time later*
"Hey Grover, where are we?" Annabeth asks.
Grover peeks through the hole in the top of the truck, then quits peeking through it.
"Almost there, we should start gathering our things," Grover said.
We start grabbing out stuff.
"Hey, there's a backpack with a note on it," Percy says and picks up the note.
"What does it say?" I ask.
"It says 'this backpack is from Ares, protect it with your life'." Percy says.
"Well, let's keep it handy then," Grover says.
I finish gathering my things, and so does everyone else.
Then, the truck stops.
We are at our destination.
