Chapter 5: I Can Take Care of You Too

Kim: Although, I'm smiling because being here with you-

Another kick, due to me saying "you" while looking at Chay. I look back at the rest of the table now.

Kim: All of you.

Everyone seemed taken aback at my sudden kind words, but Chay just sat there smiling smugly.

Kim's POV:
On the outside I appear attentive to Kinn and Porsche's every word. While on the inside, my head buzzes with excitement. It's been two days since I last got to spend more than an hour with Chay alone. Between school for Chay and him writing a new song he has to finish for his class; he hasn't had much time for me. He calls me, texts me, and always makes sure to let me take him home. But, it never feels like enough time together. Finally today, Chay had a day off. I cleared my schedule and came over after him informing me this morning. On my way in, Kinn and Porsche caught me. I gave the excuse, I was here to discuss the family business Kinn had requested me to go over with him during my date with Chay.

Porsche: As you can imagine, after all that I'm concerned for Porchay's safety.

All my attention refocuses on the conversation taking place in front of me after hearing Chay's name.

Kim: What happened?

Kinn: Were you not listening? Damn it Kim, this is important.

Kim: I understand that now, what happened?

Porsche: The night before the family dinner, one of my guards found someone watching. He was observing who was coming and going through to the Minor family home. My guards pulled him out of the car and questioned him.  He said he was just a reporter who got an anonymous tip that we had some kind of trafficking event held there today.

Kim: Why wouldn't he call the police? Even to get a good story, he would've been putting his own life at risk.

Kinn: That's why we decided to search his car. The guards found a file. It had pictures of Porchay in it. They seemed to be photographed within the last two weeks. Pictures of him at school, out with friends, at the minor family home, major family home, and with you.

I should feel worried about what the pictures of Chay and I were. But, I was only concerned with his safety right now.

Kim: You've put your men on it?

Kinn nods and looks up at Porsche. I notice when Porsche looks back at my brother, he nods. They have clearly agreed upon something.

Porsche: Seeing the photos of you and my brother. I noticed he seems comfortable with you. The photos of you waiting for Chay beside your car. It made me feel even more sure of his safety with you. As his senior at his faculty and Kinn's brother; I trust you. Every Time I've asked you to protect Porchay, you have. I understand you're a very private person, but could you do us a favor?

I stand a little unsure of Porsche's words.
"Senior at his faculty"
"Kinn's brother"
Is that really the only connection he believes I have to Chay? I know it's what Chay wants, but I hate not being able to claim him as more than my junior. More than my brother's lover's brother. The small hope of not having to hide my relationship with Chay anymore disappeared with his brother's words.

Kim: What's the favor?

Kinn: Could you let-

Porsche: It's my brother, we're doing this for. I'll be the one to make the request. Could you let Chay stay with you? Just until we discover the reason behind the stalking and ensure his safety. With both homes being watched, I don't feel comfortable with Chay being here. I know this a inconvenience-
