"Lucy, please..." Kate begged softly, reaching for the brunette's hand. "I should have told you about Cara... but we weren't together-"
Lucy pulled her hand back and glared at Kate. "She called herself your girlfriend!"
"We broke up before I moved here!" Kate snapped back, shaking her head. "Our relationship wasn't exactly a relationship. It was more physical than anything."
Lucy stepped back and shook her head. "I can't do this." She mumbled before rushing out of the bullpen.
Groaning, Kate grabbed her bag and left the building. She was tired of trying to get Lucy to listen to her. The brunette wouldn't let her explain anything.
The blonde decided to head to a bar for dinner. Deciding she didn't want to get takeout for once. It was just before she left that she ran into Kai Holman.
"Whistler?" Kai said as he steadied her.
Kate swallowed thickly and looked at him. "Agent Holman."
Kai frowned as he released her. "Are you okay?" He asked softly.
Nodding her head, Kate moved to step back, her drinks from dinner catching up with her.
"You don't seem okay." Kai observed, his frown deepening.
Kate swallowed thickly and looked away from him. "I'll be fine."
"Kate, why can't you admit when you need help?" Kai asked softly.
"Because I wasn't raised to admit when something is wrong." Kate mumbled, looking back towards him. "Let's just say, I'm going through a breakup and it's all my fault."
"Need someone to talk to?" Kai offered, giving her a soft, comforting smile.
Swallowing thickly, Kate cleared her throat and looked around them. "Not here."
"Where?" Kai asked, raising his eyebrow at her.
"My place." Kate said, looking back towards him. "You might have to drive though."
"Your place?" Kai questioned curiously.
Nodding her head, the blonde locked eyes with him. "To talk, yes."
Kai nodded. "Sure but I'll need directions."
Kate stumbled slightly and reached for Kai's shoulder to balance herself.
"Are you able to give directions?" Kai asked, wrapping his arm around her waist to keep her steady.
"I am more than capable to give you directions to my home." Kate mumbled, leaning into him.
"Okaaaay." Kai said, drawing out the word.
The blonde pulled back slightly to look at him. "We'll have to come back for my car in the morning."
Kai nodded. "I know."
"Then let's go." Kate said as she pulled away and started heading for the doors.
Kai followed her, pulling his car keys from his back pocket.

"I screwed up, I hurt her and now she hates me." Kate said as she leaning back against the arm of the couch. She'd spent the last hour telling Kai everything about her relationship with Lucy to the night of Lucy's undercover mission and Cara.
"I don't think she hates you." Kai said softly, sipping his beer.
Kate took a sip of her pinot grigio, holding the mason jar with both hands. "She won't even let me explain."
