A week later

"Lucy, you should stay." Kate said softly, stepping closer to the brunette. "Be with your Ohana."

Lucy frowned as she stared up at Kate. "What? Are you having second thoughts?"

"No!" Kate said instantly, shaking her head. "I don't want you to give up everything you have worked for." She said softly.

"If it means I can have you, us, I don't care about my job." Lucy said.

Kate stepped even closer and caressed Lucy's cheek. "I care." She whispered softly, searching Lucy's eyes. "I want you to stay and continue being the badass agent you worked to become."

"I want you." Lucy said stubbornly, frowning up at Kate, not able to understand where this was coming from.

"And I want you." Kate said softly, searching Lucy's eyes. "I'm going to go back to Quantico, get everything settled and arranged." She said softly, pulling Lucy closer. "You are going to stay here and get your apartment set up for a two year old."

Lucy blinked, confused. "What?"

Kate smiled as she leaned down to kiss Lucy. "Get your apartment child-proof or have Jane help you look for a place big enough for three."

"You're moving back to Hawaii?" Lucy still couldn't quite believe her ears.

Humming softly, Kate pulled back and smiled at Lucy. "I'm moving back to Hawaii, and I already talked to section chief Strauss. I've been promoted to unit chief and we're starting a BAU here."

Lucy threw her arms around Kate in a hug.

Kate grinned as she wrapped her arms around Lucy. "I won't be back right away, but I am coming back." She said softly, kissing the top of Lucy's head.

"Promise?" Lucy whispered desperately.

Pulling back, Kate looked into Lucy's eyes. "I promise."

Lucy hugged Kate tightly.

"Whistler, we gotta go!" Derek called from the front door.

Kate pulled away and looked down at Lucy. "I love you and I will text you when we land."

"I don't want you to go." Lucy breathed.

"I'll be back before you know it." Kate said softly, cupping Lucy's cheek and leaning down to kiss her.

Lucy's eyes fluttered closed as they kissed.

After a moment, Kate pulled away and grabbed her bag. JJ and Emily already had Malia in the car. "I love you." She said softly before leaving.

Lucy found herself crying as the car drove off. It felt like a goodbye, not a see you soon. She closed her eyes as the car disappeared around the corner, bringing her hands up to press the heels into her eyes.

Her phone started vibrating in her back pocket. Pulling her hands away, Lucy wiped her tears and cleared her throat before answering. "Hello?"

"Go to Jane's." Kate's soft voice filled Lucy's ear. "I left something there for you."

"What?" Lucy's voice cracked.

"Go to Jane's, I left something there for you." Kate repeated softly.

Lucy breathed deeply. "That's very vague."

The blonde laughed softly. "I promise it's a good thing."

"Okay." Lucy whispered, wiping her eyes again.

"It won't be forever, Luce. I'm coming back. I'm coming home to you." Kate said softly.

Lucy let out a slow breath. "Okay."
