Chapter 22

⚠️tw: cancer⚠️

Jaida's pov:

"Tell me what?" i asked as she grabbed my hand,
"it's back Jaida" she said in a whisper,

no no no.

"Tell me your not talking about what i think you are" i replied,
"the cancer is back and this time, it's incurable" she said as tears streamed down my face,
"but the doctors surely they can do something mum" i replied as she pulled me in for a hug,
"no, they can slow it down that's it" she said as i sat up and looked at her,

"i'm sorry i didn't tell you sooner, you look like you were having such a great time travelling i didn't wanna spoil that but your dad told me i needed to tell you" she said as i nodded,
"how long?" i asked as she looked down,
"a few months" she replied as i looked down,
"but you look fine mum i don't get it" i said,
"i haven't been doing chemo, i chose not to and i guess makeup helped hide it" she replied as i nodded.

"is there anyone you can go too? I don't want to leave you on your own" she said as i nodded,
"i'm going back to Lando" in muttered as she smiled,
"Lando, are you guys a thing?" she asked as i looked at her and nodded,
"as long as he treats you right, nothing i ever wanted more than for you to be happy" she replied as i smiled slightly.

We sat there for about another 10 minutes before she left.

As soon as the door shut i slid down the wall sitting on the floor in tears,

the door then opened revealing Lando, his face turned concerned as he ran over to my side,

"jj what's wrong? what's happened?" he asked as he wrapped his arms round me,
i cried into his chest as he sat there rubbing my back, he didn't talk anymore, he knew i just needed a hug.

I then sat up slightly and looked at him,

"my mum was just here, she's got Cancer Lando, it's incurable" i said before crying again as he pulled me onto his lap and hugged me tightly.

"Im gonna be here for you every step of the way okay" he said before kissing my head, i laid in his arms thinking about what life could look like in a few months before he put an arm under my legs lifting me bridal as he stood up,

"i think we should go to bed, you can wear one of my shirts" he said as i just nodded.

Once we got to his room he put me down before grabbing me one of his tops.

I went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth before changing and walking back out into the room to see Lando led in bed shirtless.

I walked over and climbed under the covers snuggling up to him as he wrapped an arm round me.

I knew he could feel my tears on his chest as he tightened his arm round me.

After about an hour i could feel he had fallen asleep, so without trying to wake him up i got up and walked out onto the balcony sitting on the chair and looking at the view.

I was sat out here for hours as before i knew it the balcony door opened and out came a sleepy Lando as he had just woken up.

"what are you doing up?" i asked him,
"needed the toilet and you weren't in bed" he replied as i nodded.

"How long have you been out here?" he asked,
"hours i think?" i replied as he walked over and held his hand out,
i grabbed his hand and stood up as he lead me back inside,
