I'm Mansi, from Delhi, in my final year at an all-girls school, living between expectations, rules... and the one thing I refuse to give up—dance.

and the one thing I refuse to give up—dance

People often say I have a certain charm. Long, semi-curly deep brown hair, a soft voice, and an infectious smile that tends to stay with people longer than expected. I've heard that more than once.

But what they don't know is that behind this smile, there's a bit of temper too. I don't try to hide it; I think it's just another part of who I am.

From the beginning, I loved dancing. It wasn't just something I enjoyed—it was something I felt deeply connected to. I always knew I wanted to do something in this field.

But I also knew convincing my parents would be impossible.

So, I didn't.

I secretly auditioned for a dance school. I knew I couldn't do this alone, so my close friend Mani helped me. He took me to the venue for the final audition. The school was well-recognized, known for producing incredible dancers—some even working in dance films.

Despite my doubts, everything seemed to fall into place.

And I got selected.

But not everything went as planned.

I reached home late that day... and I got caught.

After a lot of drama, crying, and emotional blackmailing, my parents finally agreed—but on one condition: my education should not be compromised. If it ever was, they would stop sending me to the dance school altogether.

It wasn't freedom.

But it was enough.

And that was when everything began to change.

That was when I first saw him.

Teron.

I didn't notice him because he tried to stand out. I noticed him because he moved like he belonged there more than anyone else.

He was an assistant choreographer in his early twenties—tall, confident, with a calm presence that made people listen even before he spoke.

I didn't even realise that it could take just seconds to fall in love with someone.

And that's exactly what happened.

I fell for him.

And once it started, I found reasons to be around him—just to listen, to observe, to stay close without making it obvious. The way he taught, the patience in his voice, the respect he carried—it all drew me in.

But I never let it show.

I couldn't.

One wrong step, one wrong word, and everything I had fought for could disappear.

Still, being around him became my favorite part of the day.

One evening, he saw me practicing alone, long after everyone had left

One evening, he saw me practicing alone, long after everyone had left. He walked up to me and asked what had happened. That's when I told him about auditioning for one of the biggest dance shows.

He didn't laugh. He didn't doubt me.

Instead, he helped me.

From that day on, things changed. Our practice sessions became more focused, more intense. He pushed me, corrected me, believed in me—even when I doubted myself.

And somewhere in between... I fell even harder.

With his guidance, and my determination, I got selected for the show.

Not just selected—

I won.

Later, during the finale, I was in Mumbai—and so was he.

He was moving there permanently. Opening his own dance studio. And at the same time, he had gotten a chance to work as a choreographer for Bollywood—the biggest opportunity of his life.

He was finally living his dream.

And I... had just achieved mine.

I met him that day.

We spoke, we laughed, we celebrated—but as the night slowly ended, people began to leave one by one. Soon, I was left waiting for my father to take me home.

It was in that moment that I found myself alone with him, quietly holding on to those last few minutes.

He could see that I had feelings for him.

But he remained silent.

Maybe he chose to.
Or maybe... it just wasn't the right time.

Before leaving, we exchanged our numbers.

"Whenever you're in Mumbai, let me know. We'll meet," he said, with a slight smile.

And just like that, it was time to go.

The ride home was silent, but my mind wasn't

The ride home was silent, but my mind wasn't.

It kept replaying everything—every practice, every correction, every moment I tried not to feel too much.

And one question stayed with me longer than the rest.

If he ever finds out that I love him...
will it change anything?
