Waking up next to him is the best feeling ever. His face is the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing before I close my eyes. I can hear his heartbeat, soft and steady, a gentle reminder that this moment is real.
Everything about being this close to him feels surreal... almost like a dream.
Even sharing a bed with him feels exciting.
But it was time to start the day.
The weather was surprisingly good that afternoon, so I stepped out for a walk since there was nothing much to do at home. On my way back, I saw Teron sitting with a girl. She looked older than us, but unbelievably beautiful. Short hair, flawless skin, effortless fashion sense... she carried herself with so much confidence.
Why do I suddenly feel jealous?
He told me he was meeting a friend... but he never mentioned it was a girl.
I took a step back, ready to leave.
No. If I walk away now, my mind will never rest.
I walked toward them, and he greeted me warmly, pulling a chair for me beside him. If he's this casual about it, maybe I'm just overthinking. Just as he was about to introduce me, the girl smiled first.
"Hi, I'm Tara. His girlfriend."
"What?"
Teron immediately looked away, clearly trying not to laugh.
"We've been dating for two months," she continued casually. "Strange he never mentioned you. He usually shares everything with me."
My chest tightened instantly.
Before I could even react, she asked, "You don't believe me?" Then she grabbed his hand, turned his face toward her, and kissed his cheek so close to his lips that everything inside me shattered.
Tears started rolling down my face before I could stop them.
"Mansi, listen—"
But I ran away before he could finish.
"Really?" he said to her the second I left.
"I was testing her," Tara shrugged. "You'll thank me later."
"I need to go."
By the time he got home, I was nowhere to be found. He searched every room, called me multiple times, but I refused to answer even though my phone kept ringing beside me.
Eventually, he found me sitting alone on the terrace, crying.
