I've been nervous since morning. This isn't just a date for me. It's my first date ever... and that too with the guy I've been in love with for so long. What will happen? What will we even talk about? And then there's this one thought constantly running through my mind... will he kiss me?
Usually, in movies, the guy kisses the girl right before they part ways. But here, our destination is the same. So then... what if he doesn't kiss me at all?
Pushing the thought aside, I turned my attention to the much more immediate problem—what to wear.
I stared at my wardrobe for almost an hour before finally deciding on a light pink sleeveless top with a dark purple skirt and black boots. It was bolder than anything I normally wore, but tonight, I wanted to look different. Special.
After a long head bath and another thirty minutes spent fixing my hair for absolutely no reason, I was finally ready. I left it open, letting it fall softly over my shoulders.
At exactly 7 p.m., he called. "I'm leaving now. I'll be there in thirty minutes."
The moment the call ended, my heartbeat doubled. I quickly called Sakshi over to show her my outfit.
"OMG! Is this really you?" she almost screamed. "I've never seen you like this before! I love this look on you."
I laughed shyly. "Well... I finally have someone to impress."

I grabbed my jacket quickly and stepped outside into the cold evening air.
And then I saw him.
Leaning casually against the car in an olive green shirt and black trousers, looking unfairly attractive.
For a second, I genuinely forgot how to breathe.
His eyes slowly moved over me before a soft smile appeared on his face.
"You look beautiful."
That single sentence made every hour of overthinking worth it.
He handed me a bouquet of flowers and opened the car door for me. Soft music played during the drive while we talked casually about random things, but every now and then, I'd catch him glancing at me, and my stomach would instantly flip.
