Pure Heart Confession

I woke up alone in the room, still tucked under his blanket, still surrounded by his scent... but him? Gone. My heart immediately started sinking. Where did he go? Did he regret it already? Did I do something wrong by stopping him midway? Have I disappointed him?

And then another thought hit me even harder. He still hasn't confessed his feelings to me. Yes, he was gentle, caring, and soft with me... but he never actually said what he feels. What if all this meant far more to me than it did to him? Just a few hours ago, we had fallen asleep half-naked in each other's arms, our bare chests pressed together for the first time. That memory should've made me happy. Instead, fear slowly started consuming me.

I was drowning in my thoughts when Sakshi entered the room. She looked at me, then at the T-shirt lying on the floor, and raised an eyebrow.

"I need all the juicy details, bitch. Nothing should be left behind. I wanna know how your T-shirt ended up on the floor instead of on you, alright, miss?"

"We just made out!"

Sakshi gave me a mischievous look.

"Mansi... why aren't you sounding happy about it?Shouldn't you be jumping in joy right now? What's wrong? Did he force you?"

"No, no... it was wonderful. He was wonderful. It's just..."

"It's just what? Say it, you're freaking me out." Sakshi asked, her voice rising.

"It's that he hasn't confessed his feelings for me yet. Did he even mean it, or was it just normal for him? I mean... he'd been intimate with his ex before, and he'd been known as a bit of a playboy in college. So kissing and making out probably aren't a big deal to him, right? But for me, it's a huge deal. It's my first time, and I don't know how he feels about it."

Then Sakshi responds, "Oh God, here we go again. You've already imagined ten different ways this could go wrong, haven't you? First, calm down and put your T-shirt on. I can't focus when you're sitting there looking this sexy."

I rolled my eyes.

You were sleeping and he had to step out for work, so he left. He told me to inform you once you woke up. That's actually why I came here too, but you started overthinking already. You could've called him too, you know. You just start doubting everything.

I didn't realize my phone was switched off. I turned it on immediately.
Damn. It was already eight.

There was a text from him. "Give me a call when you see my message."

I called him right away.

T: Hey, finally your phone is switched on.

M: Sorry.

T: It's okay. I'm on my way, around fifteen minutes away. Freshen up and meet me downstairs?

M: Are we going somewhere?

T: Yeah, just nearby for a walk. I'll call you once I'm there. See ya.

A little while later, I headed downstairs and found him waiting outside.

I waved, avoiding eye contact for too long, gave him a small smile, and got into the car.

He drove me to a quiet place on the other side of Marine Drive. Hardly anyone came here. The view was breathtaking. Far away from traffic and noise, surrounded by the coastline, with a sky full of stars and a cool breeze brushing against my skin.

"Wow. What an amazing view."
