Mended Hero

Chapter 2

   Eclipse jogs down the street with Anna beside her. They had been getting ready to head to the academy when new had shown an alert. Warfalcon and the other students were fighting a giant and seemed to be losing as well. Eclipse jumps a railing, her half cape flapping in the wind behind her.

Eclipse is acutely aware of Anna's movements as she follows behind her, their bodies seemed to sync together as they ran. The feeling was honestly exhilarating, and she couldn't wait to see how it helped them fight. She could feel the excitement from Anna, confirming that she felt the same way.

A crash from ahead confirms they are coming close and, sure enough, the giant comes into sight. It's deep laugh echoes through the buildings as it throws Warfalcon down the street. Students groaned from the ground as they tried to stand up. Gathering the water around her, she sends it to the wounded. The water begins healing their wounds as she and Anna run by them. Cheers erupt from the other heroes, causing the giant to turn towards them.

Anna immediately knows what she's planning as Eclipse jumps in the air. She aims a kick at his head, but he raises his hands to block the attack, too bad she was the decoy. While she went high, Anna had gone low. She slammed into his knees as Eclipse pushes off his hand, sending jolts of electricity through the giant's body. The giant reaches towards Anna to stop her, but Eclipse is quicker. The second her boots touch the ground, she shoots toward them again, her dagger digging into his wrist as Anna jumps back. They dash in opposite directions. Eclipse drops the water shed gathered above his head, dousing his body as Anna sends a lightning bolt down on him. The combination of water and lightning was enough to knock him out, sending him crashing to the ground as he shrinks to a normal size. Eclipse makes sure he's still breathing before letting the cops take over and going to help Warfalcon out of the rubble.

"It's only been a week and you're getting beat by a giant?" She shakes her head teasingly as he glares at her.

"Ya know... If you're not going to help me..."

"Last I checked... I did help." Eclipse smirks as she takes his hand and gets him up. "Reverse!" The command slips from her lips as her eyes flash.

The damage done to the city slowly disappears, returning to its original state. If she had seen the items in question, she could reverse damage done to inanimate objects. Though it gave her a slight headache afterwards. She rubs her temple as she turns her attention to the injured students. Thankfully her water had channeled enough healing that all they had were scratches and bruises now. Anna was helping them up as she approached with Warfalcon behind her.

"So did you guys have fun this week?" Warfalcon smirks as Anna turns red.

"Quite a bit. Hard to remember it all though." Eclipse shrugs, smirking as it was Warfalcon's turn to be embarrassed.

"Ok I'm sorry I asked now." He groans, walking away as the two of them laugh.

News crews were starting to gather so Eclipse gives the signal to get out of there. The students disappeared in the crowd around them as Eclipse gives a two-finger salute to the camera and then she and Anna take off. The salute was kind of like the academy's calling card. A way to show the people that they had everything under control.

Back at the academy, Anna breaks off to go talk to Azura. She'd been excited to show off her new tattoos and talk about her new babies as well. Her phone camera seemed to fill up overnight.
