Chapter 39

Eclipse holds the branches back, letting Anna take the lead for now as Pia catches up.

"I know she seems to think she knows you and she did take down the Dark Knights back there... but is she going to be able to keep us safe?" Pia looks at Anna with concern.

Eclipse furrows her brows, realizing that Pia and Brock hadn't been able to see her use her powers. Without her memories, Eclipse couldn't summon her abilities and hadn't been put in a position where she'd accidentally set them off either. Atleast nothing noticeable. Her stealth, speed, and muscle builder were the only things she could access and they had chalked that up to talent.

"Anna can handle herself if need be." Eclipse looks forward, not sure how to approach this subject.

Pia stops for a second, making Eclipse look at her. "Anna? Wait, you know her?"

"Oh right... I've got my memories back." Eclipse smiles apologetically. "Anna is my wife."

Pia's eyes brighten. "You married a superhero?!"

Eclipse laughs. "If that's enough to impress you then I'm not sure how you'll react to what's next."

Pia looks at her curiously as Anna runs back to them and Eclipse turns to her.

"We're almost there but I hear some fighting going on up ahead." Anna warns them.

Eclipse smirks as she points at Anna's wrist. "That's because your watch broke earlier darling. Warfalcon is probably coming to find you."

"Wait.. why didn't you tell me that earlier?!" Anna looks at her watch, noticing the cracked screen.

"Because I knew you'd get anxious and upset over something you couldn't fix." Eclipse chuckles, kissing her forehead.

She gives her a playful glare as they continue walking, Pia laughing at them from behind.

Eclipse smirks. "Power up."

Dark energy flowed over her and her suit forms over her body, cape billowing against her legs. She flexes her hand, feeling the material against her skin.

"You're a hero?!" Pia's mouth drops as Eclipse laughs.

Anna giggles. "Come on you two, explanations later."

Anna runs ahead with Eclipse on her heels.

"Looks like they don't need our help after all." Eclipse chuckles as they slide to a stop.

All but one dark knight was on the ground with Warfalcon's team hurrying to help the person struggling against the final knight. Eclipse waves a hand, sending dark energy into the knight and sending her flying into the wall.

"Another knight!" A young boy points at them and throws bullets of light at her.

Cursing under her breath, Eclipse pulls up a wall of dark energy to protect them.

"You couldn't use something that wasn't dark energy?" Anna smirks at her

"Hey now, I've been practicing it for over a year now... it's kind of become second nature." Eclipse laughs. "How about you go tell then to stand down and then you can lecture me about appropriate ability choices?"

Anna giggles but runs to the other side and slips around. "Hold your fire!"

"Fiesta!" Eclipse smiles at Azura and Fire's voices, hearing the thud as they tackle Anna.

The barrage against her shield slows to a stop until she feels safe enough to drop it, having to move a bit to dodge the last light bullet aimed at her face. "Careful!"

"Stronggirl!" Fire collides into her, knocking her to the ground with a laugh.

"Good to see you too Fire... now can you please let me up?" Eclipse groans, trying to push her off.

"Hell no! You disappeared for over a year! I'm getting as much out of this as I can!" Fire protests as Eclipse drops her head back with a groan.

Anna giggles as she stands over her. "Damnit... that's what I wanted to do."

"You had your chance princess." Eclipse smirks, sticking her tongue out.

The others laugh as Fire finally let's her up to brush off the dirt.

"I guess that explains why shadow and her knights were trapped down the road." Azura grins.

Eclipse smirks. "She put Anna in danger... what was I supposed to do?"

Fire rolls her eyes. "Yeah well Warfalcon will be really happy to see you."

Eclipse smiles. "I bet... can't wait to mess with him about not waiting for me." She looks pointedly at the ring Fire was trying to hide as she blushes. "Anna warned me. I'm just happy that you guys are safe. Don't worry about it."

They wait for the refugees to catch up before hurrying to the academy. Tents were set up in the courtyard as they walk through the gates. Warfalcon was in the middle talking to a couple people. Eclipse raises a finger to her lips and sneaks up behind him, looking over his shoulder.

"Nice ring. Got a matching one lying around?" She grins as he yelps and drops the tablet in his hand, catching it with her telekinesis. "Damn you didn't have to try and break the equipment."

Warfalcon spins around and hugs her tightly. "You're back!"

"Yeah.. I'm back." She pats his shoulder.
