Chapter 38

"Eclipse, please?!" Anna's voice screams as her as someone shakes her shoulders.

"It's no use. She is out like a light. Pity you guys have reunited only to be separated again." Someone crackles as the air grows heavy. "Not that it mattered. She hasn't remembered a thing since that day over a year ago."

"No! I won't let you take her! Not again..." Anna's voice breaks. "I don't care if she remembers... I'll just build new memories with her...."

"Ugh I hate all this sap." The woman groans and the air suddenly turns cold.

Eclipse's eyes snap open as she grabs Anna and pulls her out of the way of the blast. Her hair falling into her eyes as she looks down at Anna. After spending over a year in the negative zone, seeing Anna safe and sound was a huge relief.

Anna cries as she throws her arms around her neck. "You're ok! Oh thank God I thought you wouldn't wake up and I would lose you again... it's ok that you don't remember me... I'll explain everything to you later but I can't..."

Eclipse smiles softly, grabbing her chin and pressing their lips together making Anna squeaks in surprise. "Don't worry princess. I'm not going anywhere."

"You.. you remember?" Anna's eyes fill with tears and Eclipse gently wipes them away.

"Long story princess and not the time to tell it." Eclipse stands up and helps her to her feet.

"Ugh sp we're going to go through this again, huh?" Shadow's voice grates in her nerves.

Eclipse narrows her eyes at the woman, noticing the two knights surrounding Pia and Brock. "Anna go save them. I've got this." Anna grabs her arm, eyes filled with worry as Eclipse kisses her again. "I promised I wasn't going anywhere and I meant it."

Anna hesitates but nods her head as she runs towards the two. Eclipse turns her attention towards shadow as the woman smirks.

"Honestly I'm surprised you're still standing. Now that your memories are back, you should be overloading again soon enough. All I have to do is wait you out." She chuckles but Eclipse just smirks.

She takes a step and she's suddenly beside the surprised woman, black smoke trailing behind her. "Not this time."

She slams her fist into Shadow's midsection, sending a few feet away. The woman glares as she sends a wave of energy at her. Eclipse does the same but her wave immediately overpowers Shadow's, slamming her back again.

"No... how?!" Shadow growls as she struggles to her feet.

"My memories weren't gone... my soul was separated. I've been working on how to control those powers for the last year." Eclipse smirks. "You messed with the wrong hero and now I'm pissed."

Shadow tries to lunge at her. She grabs the woman's arm and throws her into a building. Shadow tries to get up but strong dark tendrils grab her and pull her down, siphoning her dark energy away and forcing her to stay down. Eclipse turns and the two knights fighting Anna get tangled up as well. Giving Anna the opportunity to break the metal casing that held the other two captive.

"You guy's ok?" Eclipse jogs over to them as Pia and Brock look relieved.

She catches Anna as she throws herself against her, their lips crashing together before pulling away.

"Did we miss something?" Pia asks in confusion.

Eclipse chuckles. "Maybe a bit. Let's go get the refugees to the academy. I can explain there."

Pia and Brock look at each other and then back at her. "Umm you sure you're ok? It's not really safe yet."

Eclipse rolls her eyes. "I'm fine. Shadow won't be going anywhere and we can take out any knights that try to stop us. Just trust me this time."

Pia frowns but nods. "If you're sure..."

Anna clings to Eclipse's arm as they walk and Eclipse offers her a small smile, squeezing her hand reassuringly.her wife just leans her head on her shoulder in response. Eclipse sighs, turning her gaze back to the camp as it comes in sight. Thankfully they hadn't gotten far in setting up so when Pia and Brock told them they were moving, they moved quickly. Eclipse kisses the top of Anna's head as she moves out of the way and pulls her to the side.

Anna sniffs as she clutches to her. "I thought I had lost you. I'm so sorry I couldn't...."

"Anna baby... that wasn't you're fault. It wasn't anyone's fault but God and Gabriel." Eclipse sighs as she looks up at her curiously. She explains about the negative zone and what Gabriel had told her. "I'm sorry I was gone for so long. I had to learn to control it or I would have put you in more danger."

Anna nods as she kisses her. "I understand. I'm just glad you're home."

"Me too princess." Eclipse smiles softly. "Now let's get back to the academy. We have a lot of dark knights to round up."

Anna smiles but it quickly disappears. "I have something to tell you first... Warfalcon and Fire eloped a couple months ago. They had no idea how long the war would take... Phoenix and Jesse got married on Urandia as well."

Eclipse bites her lip before smiling. "As long as they're happy that's all that matters. It just means I'll have something to teach Warfalcon with later."

Anna giggles. "I missed you."

"And I missed you love." Eclipse kisses her gently.
