5| WTF happened last night?

Vineet's POV

I lost control there.....

Next morning

I was out in a park jogging early in the morning. My thoughts were wandering back to her all the time. The way she looked at me last night. The way her eyes held desires and the way things turned out last night.

I woke up at 4 all of a sudden in the morning and after looking at the situation I was in, I couldn't stay there nor face her. How did I lose control? How could SHE of all make me lose my control? How could I not push her? Why did I let things happen?

I was standing on the track and thinking about all this when a puppy came out of nowhere.

"Hey little boy" I said patting his head. It woofed and snuggled into my hand. "Hey! Thank you for catching him." A girl said holding the puppy. "Uhm... welcome I guess." She didn't even look at me and just took the puppy and left. The puppy turned around in her arms and looked at me. I just smiled and waved at him.

Once again, she occupied my thoughts. I left her just like that in my room. Maybe it wasn't a good idea, but I couldn't think of anything else and could not face her. Not right now. I don't know if she remembers anything, but I can't face her. Not right now.

I decided to jog for a bit more and then go back to my house. Till she must've left.

Aanya's POV

I woke up with a massive headache. I slowly opened my eyes and instantly sat up. I was in a completely unfamiliar room. How did I come here?

I looked at myself and I was wearing a shirt.

wait- A SHIRT?!!!!!!

I got up from the bed and looked around but there was no one. Whose house is this? Why is there no photo of this person? I looked for my phone and found it thrown under the couch. There were 70 missed calls from Yashvi.

I'm dead.

I called her and she picked up in an instant.

"WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU, YOU CHACHUNDAR KI AULAD?!!!!!!!" I had to pull my phone away from my ear to save them. "Yashu...I don't know where I am..." I said in a low yet panicked voice. "WHAT THE LEONARDO DA VINCHI DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW?!!" She yelled again.

She really needs to spit the microphone that's stuck in her throat.

"Umm..it's someone's house but I don't know whose" I told her. "Ok just come out and book a cab to home. I'll pay but just come home. I'm worried." I could hear tension in her voice. "Yea I'm coming." I said and got out of the house. I booked a cab and got in.

As I was going home, I couldn't help but think how that felt really familiar yet unfamiliar. I tried remembering last night's events, but I could recollect nothing. I sighed as I couldn't remember anything. Soon I reached home and talked to Yashvi and dad. They were really worried for me.

"Aanya, you've got a letter though. It's in your room." Dad said. I couldn't understand at first but then realized. "OH MY GODD!!!!" I said and ran into my room. I could hear dad and Yashvi laughing but I didn't turn back and just went in and saw the letter placed on my bed.

I got accepted. I got accepted. I GOT ACCEPTED!!!!

My new life's gonna start now. I'm gonna become a lawyer.

Back to present

Aanya opened her eyes. She looked around and realized she was in a park. She pulled out her phone and called someone. "I need an appointment fixed with senior investigator of the Kavya case." She said and cut the call. Her wallpaper displayed the most familiar and beautiful pair of eyes that she could never forget.

The eyes that once held so much love for her and only her. But time changes everything and now everything's changed. She accepted it. She expects him to accept it too. However, destiny has it's own woven dreams and plans that would fulfil no matter what.

Vineet, on the other hand, had to get ready to meet the lawyer who was working with him on a particular case. He was looking through the case reports and other documents when his phone rang. "Hello." He said. "Sir, the meeting venue is changed. Senior Investigator Mr. Madhav wants the meeting to be done at his office." The other person said.

"Alright I'll be there." He said picking his jacket and watch and wearing shoes, he got in his car to go to the investigator's office. As soon as he sat inside the car, his mind was suddenly occupied by her thoughts. The way she looked so serene last night. He shook his head in order to forget it but nothing worked.

Soon enough he reached the investigator's office. He went in and sat in front of the senior investigator, Mr.Madhav. "Sorry M.Singhal but our advocate is a bit late today. She'll be here any moment." He said. "It's completely alright Mr. Madhav." Vineet said.

Vineet and Mr. Madhav were indulged in a talk when the office door was opened all of a sudden and in entered the lawyer for the case, Aanya Verma.

"Sorry I was stuck in an emergency. Sorry to make you wait." Aanya apologized as soon as she came and then looked at a shocked Vineet.

"It's ok Ms. Verma. Well meet our detective for this case, Mr. Vineet Singhal and Mr. Singhal, this is Ms. Aanya Verma, the lawyer for this case. I hope you two cooperate with each other." Mr. Madhav said and looked at both of them who didn't dare to move their eyes away from each other.

"Well, I need to be somewhere at the moment. Please communicate and solve the case. The deadline is nearing as you know." Mr. Madhav said making his way out.
