Enemies to Lovers || Mattheo Riddle

Chapter 8

Music was playing as students and professors gathered into the arena for the third and final task.

Dumbledore announced the task. Harry and Cedric were first into the maze as they were tied for first place from the last task that took place in the black lake.

"Krum is definitely going to win!" Goyle announced.

"My bets are on Fleur" Lorenzo smiled

"Of course they are" Draco scoffed with a chuckle.

"Well my bets are on Harry" Kiara said proudly.

"You know what. Mine too!" Theodore announced. "He's surprised us in the last two tasks so surely he's going to pull some sort of trick this time around". He added, gaining some disgusted looks from some of the boys.

The crowd cheered as they watched krum and Fleur enter the maze.

"Only time will tell" Mattheo mumbled

To keep themselves busy the group ate their snacks and joked around. "I wish I saw you punching Enzo!" Pansy pouted.

"Well next time I walk in on you and my brother, follow me" Kiara laughed.

"Should have put a sock on the door" Lorenzo laughed

"Yes! Why didn't you do that? At least then I wouldn't be scarred for life" Kiara pointed towards Pansy and Theodore.

"Sorry" Theodore shrugged his shoulders.

"Here" Mattheo nudged Kiara passing over her favourite colour of jelly beans, red.

Kiara smiled "Thank you", taking them willing from his hand. He had handed a few from his packet, without realising as she ate them all.

"Wait isn't red your favourite too?" She questioned after noticing he had none left.

Mattheo shrugged one shoulder and screwed up his face as he reached out for some orange Jelly beans.

Kiara looked him up and down for a moment in appreciation of his kind gesture.

Harry appears in front of the crowd with Cedric. Everyone began cheering, music started to play in celebration of their return.

Kiara stood up, realising the awful situation ahead of her. Her heart dropped inside of her chest as her friends cheered. Harry crying over Cedric's lifeless body.

Some of the crowd slowly realised, things getting quieter as the music continued. "AHH!" Fleur screamed in fear.

"He's back! He's back! Voldemort's back!" Harry weeped over Cedric.

Cedric's father pushed through. Crying in pain. The crowd silenced and the music stopped playing completely. Cries were the only sound surrounding the area.

Kiara couldn't take her eyes off as professors started to remove students from the stands. A tear falling down her face in shock.

"Kie! Come on!" Pansy shouted.

"Kiara!" The boys all tried to get her attention but failed as they were escorted away by a professor.

Kiara was distraught at Cedric's body lying there with his father wrapped around him.

"I've got her!" Mattheo shouted over towards the group.

"Kie we've got to go" Mattheo grabbed onto Kiara, trying to move her away. "Kiara! Kiara look at me!" He shouted, placing his hand on her face to turn it around towards him.
