Chapter 9

Students boarded the carriages that awaited them at the end of the platform.

Kiara bumped into something, looking confused at the emptiness beside her. "Come on Kie" Theodore called from the carriage.

"Sorry I thought I.. Nevermind it was probably just another student" Kiara mumbled.

Pansy looked at her in concern before the carriage pulled off.

"Have you guys seen Malfoy or Riddle?" Lorenzo questioned.

"Yeah they are in the carriage ahead of us" Theodore nodded his head to the side where they both sat with Crabbe and Goyle.

"I wonder how their summer went with... you know who.." Pansy muttered.

"Probably not very pleasant I'd presume" Blaise replied.

Kiara looked ahead locking eyes with Draco and sending him a small smile.

"Let's just not mention anything when we reach the castle okay!" Theodore demanded. Everyone nodding their head in agreement. Kiara laid her head on Theodore's shoulder, which he then rested his head on hers.

Students gathered in the great hall for dinner and listened to the regular back to school announcement.

The Slytherins did not bother to listen to the announcement as there was always a new professor each year.

"Hem, hem" the woman dressed in all pink cleared her throat grabbing attention from the students talking. "Headmaster, if I could address the school?" She stood up, walking towards Dumbledore.

"What is she wearing" Pansy judged, looking her up and down in disgust. Kiara screwing her face before they snickered to each other.

"She's very... pink" Kiara looked her up and down, along with a numerous amount of students.

The lady walked up next to the podium.

"Now! How are we all doing tonight?" She paused, nobody uttered a word. "I thought I would just say a few words. I am here from the Ministry of Magic's bequest, under educational decree twenty-two, which states that if the Headmaster of Hogwarts is unable to fill any teaching post the Ministry shall select one for the position"

"Is she serious?" Theodore mumbled. Other students murmured throughout the hall.

"The Ministry has always considered the magical education of our children to be of vital importance, and the passing down of this ancient and noble art must be given to the next generation, lest it be lost forever..." Umbridge paused.

"Without progress, stagnation. But progress for progress's sake is to be discouraged, for our art requires no tinkering." She paused again.

Kiara turned to Pansy, screwing her face up.

"A balance must be attained, the new and the old! Permanence and change, tradition and innovation, order and chaos.
There are large changes coming soon, changes walking the fine line between order and chaos. Know only that these changes are for the best, and to prevent the destruction of our civilisation from its own decay. Thank you." Umbridge smiles at the students

"This is going to be fun!" Kiara smiles and looks over towards the Weasley twins who were thinking the exact same thing.

A welcome back party brewed in the Slytherin common room later on that night.

Theodore and Pansy cuddled up in the corner of the sofa. Lorenzo off with Daphne. Kiara sat with Draco. Blaise and Mattheo opposite them.

"I have a bad feeling about this pink woman" Blaise scoffed.
