Chapter 42 - The Last

The sun rose high the following day. Students still being treated from their wounds.

"I want to see him" Kiara mumbled.

Mattheo stroked her hair and kissed her on the forehead.

They made their way to the great hall, where the dead had been safely placed, making their way into the corner.

Pansy and Blaise already sitting on the stands. Blaise comforting her once again.

Kiara looked down at her brother's lifeless body. "Leviso" she mumbled.

Theodore's body lifted into the air, a few inches from the ground.

"What are you doing?" Pansy quickly asked, standing up in shock.

"I'm giving him the proper burial he needs" Kiara said, beginning to walk out of the hall with a Theodore's body following behind her.

Professors examined their actions but decided to leave them be.

"We should tell someone. We should tell Madame pomfrey. Or McGonagall" Pansy started to panic, looking around.

Neither one of them replied, following Kiara as she lead the way.

Kiara stopped, they were now facing the black lake. She softly lowered Theodore's body to the ground, and nodded to Mattheo.

Mattheo gestured Blaise to help. Lifting Theodore into the water, going in knee deep.

"This is what he'd want" Kiara mumbled, loud enough for them to hear.

"He'd understand why Draco can't be here too" Pansy began to cry.

"I'm here" a voice spoke from behind.

Kiara closed her eyes as she turned to face him, in thanks for him returning.

"We are all here" Daphne and Astoria both announced themselves.

Pansy hugged the girls, crying together into each other's arms.

Not one of them went near Kiara, as she stood there numb, watching Mattheo and Blaise with her brother.

Draco made his way into the lake.

"It's what he'd want" Kiara mumbled again.

Mattheo waited for her call, his heart aching at the sight of his best friend below him.

Kiara nodded once.

"Let go" Mattheo told the boys, they both let go of Theodore.

Mattheo looked down at him. "I'll look after her. I promise" he whispered, pushing Theodore softly away from them.

Draco and Blaise made their way towards the girls. Draco making his way to Astoria and Daphne. Blaise hugging Pansy as she cried into his chest.

Kiara watched as her brother's body floated into the sunset. Mattheo had slowly began to make his way towards her.

His hand brushing against hers. Kiara took her eyes off Theodore for the first time, looking up into Mattheo's glance. Her eyes soft and pure of light.

Kiara reached for her wand, pointing out into the distance. "Incendio" a spark of red left her wand, landing exactly where she wanted.

She couldn't just let his body float out and be found by villagers or muggles.

"I love you, Brother" her soft voice said.

Mattheo took a big gulp in, not being able to hold his tears in any longer.

The group had burned a campfire near the black lake, spending one last time together on the grounds of Hogwarts.

"I really must be going" Draco announced.

"Us too" Astoria said, looking towards Daphne.

"I'm sure we will all see each other again" Daphne assured.

Pansy got up, weak and dark eyed from her crying as she said her goodbyes to the three of them. Blaise joining, taking Draco into the biggest bromance hug of his life.

"I suppose we better get going too" Pansy said.

Mattheo softly placed his hand on Kiara's shoulder before getting up to say his goodbyes to the group.

Kiara stared at the ground. "I'm pregnant" she announced.

Everyone's heads turned.

"W..what?" Pansy questioned, small excitement in her voice

Mattheo was too stunned to speak, his eyes had widened at those two words.

Kiara looked up, seeing all their shocked and confused faces. "I'm pregnant" she repeated slightly louder.

"Are you serious?" Mattheo questioned, nothing but shock in his voice.

Kiara took a gulp in and nodded, waiting for Mattheo to walk away.

Mattheo stood there with no expression on his face for a moment before a light shone in his eye. A smile grew wide across his face. "We're having a baby!" He excitedly said, running towards Kiara.

His arms wrapping around her waist, lifting her off the ground. "We're having a baby" he announced again, cheering.

Matthew placed Kiara down softly on the floor and kissing her passionately on the lips. "I can't believe it. When did you?" He asked, excitement still running through him.

Everyone else had made their way over to congratulate them.

"Last night. Madame Pomfrey" Kiara replied.

"I can't believe it!" Mattheo kissed Kiara again, but on the forehead.

Kiara looked over at Pansy with a soft smile. "I was thinking... if it was a boy.. Theodore"

Pansy smiled, tears forming as she threw her arms around Kiara.
