Needing space.

Jayden

We dozed off again and I woke up to hear someone trying to reach me in the mind link.

"Jayden?"

"Yes Cj?" I looked over at Caylee who's still sound asleep.

"How is she? Are y'all joining us for dinner?" I looked over at the clock on the night stand and realized it was almost 6:00 pm.

"I'll wake Caylee and head down. Oh, and Cj?"

"Yeah?"

"What was all that attitude about before?" There was nothing for a few seconds.

"Cj?" I linked, wondering why he isn't answering me.

"Well, you had told me to talk to her and when I got back to her we didn't get to, being that our mom was there. Then she excused herself so I definitely couldn't talk to her then. Then Jojo and Zee saw me as I was going back to the pack house and asked where she was. I assumed your room and they went towards your room. Then when you told me I couldn't see her it upset me."

And I understand his frustration. But, Caylee needs some space and no one is catching on to that. Everyone wants answers but fail to realize the damage it is causing her.

"She is just very overwhelmed, Cj. So much has changed for her in the last 24 hours. I just want her to rest, like the doctor requested. But of course everyone is just worried about the answer to their questions. Not how those questions are making her feel. It is still her birthday, one that to her might be the worst yet best one. I'm going to wake her to head down." He didn't reply to anything I said. Maybe he realized I'm right.

"Caylee, amor." I rub my hand up and down her arm.

"Caylee? Love, we have to head down to dinner." She starts to move around, waking up. I see her eyes flutter open. She looks directly at me.

"Hi there, beautiful." I give her a huge smile. She gives me a smile back.

"We have to head down." She nods and starts moving the sheets off of herself to get up.

After about 10 minutes, we headed down to the dinning room to our usual table. But once we walked in, everyone looked in our direction. Caylee instantly froze. I felt her body completely tense up.

"It's ok love, I'm here." I took her hand in mine and continued to our table. I nodded at everyone sitting at our table and proceeded to pull out Caylee's seat. She sat down and I went to my seat.

Dinner went well and I am so grateful that no one upset Caylee. No one treated her any different than every other night she joined us for dinner.

"Jayden." Father mind links me.

"Yes?"

"Are you and Caylee's friends still in the dining room?" Hmm. I wonder why he asked.

"Yes, why?"

"Martha wants to bring in a cake and sing to Caylee." I'm not sure if Caylee would want this. But, her mother probably has many feelings and blames herself. So I will give her this. I just hope it doesn't bother my girl.

"Ok." Is all I said. Let's hope her current mood isn't ruined.
