Caylee

Chapter 30

It’s her story to tell. 

Jayden.

I already knew why my father wanted me in his office. He needs to know what exactly happened. But what he doesn’t know is that it isn’t my place to tell him. I will gladly tell him that Caylee is my mate, but I will not tell him her story. Because it is her story to tell. 

“Amor, I have to meet with my father. I sent Cj back to you. I will see you as soon as I can.” I sent my Caylee a mind link so she doesn’t feel like I’ve left her. 

I continue to make my way to fathers office, as soon as I arrived the door swung open and there stood my father. He looked angry.

“Jayden.” He said sternly and motioned his hand for me to walk in. As I walked in I saw the head warrior, Mike, standing by fathers desk. I went straight to the seat in front of his desk and sat down, confused on why Mike was here.  

“Jayden, I need to know what exactly has gone down in the last 12 hours and why wasn’t I informed about any of it until this morning when Mike came into my office.” I am looking directly at him, but before I even got to speak up, he spoke again. 

“Do you know why he’s here Jayden?” I shook my head, no. 

“Well, apparently this morning, before the sun had begun to rise, Robert had left the territory.” I instantly became angry. But at the same time relieved. 

“Do you know why it seemed a bit concerning Jayden?” He looked at me. 

“Mike here says that Robert knocked out both warriors that were at that border when they questioned him on leaving. The warriors are fine, but no one knows where he is headed.” 

My anger clearly showed on my face because he proceeded to ask me what I knew. 

“He’s on the run, because he knows that if everyone knew what he’d done. He’d be dead.” Mike, who was looking at my father the entire time, snapped his neck in my direction. Because the tone in my voice was deadly. 

“And why is that? What are you not telling me Jayden? And what is this I hear that something happened with the betas daughter?” I instantly growled at the mention of Caylee. 

“My mate has a name. Caylee. And her story is not mine to tell. So when she’s ready she will tell you. But one thing is for sure, that man better not get near this pack again, or I will kill him.” WIth that I got up and left his office. Because I felt my anger rising. 

I felt my wolf fighting to come out. I need to get away. I need Caylee. But I need to cool down first. I need to run. 

I heard my father calling my name and I heard him screaming it out through the mind link but I blocked him out and ran out of the pack house. Shifting once I’m out the door. 

I ran and ran for a while until I couldn't anymore. I was at the stream when I heard her through the mind link.

“Jayden?” My body shivered hearing her say my name. 

“Yes amor?” I knew it was time to go back. Thankfully I was no longer angry.

“Where are you?” I began to feel like shit because I know she needs me and here I am away from her.

“I am on my way to you.” And with that I ran back home.

“Jayden!” I heard my father and it made me roll my eyes. I know he’s upset but so am I and he needs to understand that this story is not mine to tell and when Caylee is ready she will tell him .

“When she’s ready she will tell you. But I will not force my mate to speak. Just trust me father.” And I block him out again, as I make my way to my girl.
