Kenori ate the last of her Jolly Rancher gummies, throwing the bag into the mini trash container she had in between her bed and nightstand. Even though she cleared the large bag of candy, she was hungry. She hadn't eaten much food in two days; since the situation with Mekhi happened—not as if that was why she wasn't eating normally—she just didn't have an appetite.

She hadn't seen Mekhi since, not that she was worried or anything, she didn't care. She shrugged her thoughts away as she threw her legs over the side of the bed and began to walk out her room. As she jogged downstairs she saw Dani and Shae in the kitchen talking about whatever.

"Hey, Kenni." Dani smiled and Kenori waved slightly. She made her way to the refrigerator and her tight-lipped smile faded when she only saw condiments and frozen food.

"If you're hungry, the boys bringing some food," Dani informed her, making her chuckle sarcastically. Shae hummed in response, catching on.

"Ken—" Dani started only to get cut off by Kenori's question, "Shae why is the refrigerator empty? I see hotdogs and all this shit, where's the food?" Kenori cut her off, asking the question she was now irritated to ask.

"Kenori, I have a lot to do. Grocery shopping is not one of them. When I leave the house I do what I got to do. Maybe you could get off your ass and do it yourself," Shae stated dryly, meeting Kenori's eyes.

Kenori tilted her head, clearing her throat before speaking; "When I tried to, you told me you had it. Now I'm realizing you didn't. If you didn't want to do it, you could've told me, Marshala," Kenori stated in a firm tone. Shae could've told her, groceries were nothing. But Kenori also knew Shae liked to do things herself so she never questioned it.

"Meechie and them are on the way with Chick-Fil-A," Dani interjected softly, trying to mediate the situation.

"Kenori, the fact is, I haven't done it. You're right. But come on, have some accountability. You were so caught up with everything about Mekhi you were forgetting about our home. The food that we have to eat. Mekhi fed you every single day, even if you noticed or not. Now that y'all aren't on talking terms anymore, you all of a sudden remember that food is in the house," Shae retorted, her tone growing slightly bitter as her point went further.

Kenori's eyes scanned Shae, her body tense, she sounded slightly frustrated, honestly. The silence was loud, all you could hear were the clicking of Shae's nails on her phone. Kenori's breath slowed steadily as she was about to let the next words come out of her mouth.

Dani sensed the tension, "Y'all, they're bringing food in any minute. I don't think—"

"Dani, I don't want the food! Shut the fuck up with that shit!" Kenori yelled frustratedly, making Dani flinch slightly at the sudden scream.

"You're talking about accountability, okay. All those times you said you were running 'errands'. All these errands, and grocery shopping was on that list," Kenori did air quotes, tilting her head as she looked back at Shae.

"You're calling me distracted, yeah. I'll be honest. But, I wasn't that distracted to the point when every time you said you were running errands and would grab the groceries, you never came back with any!" Kenori called her out, and Shae's gaze looked like she was in disdain, meeting Kenori's gaze.

"So, if you didn't grab groceries, that means you weren't running errands, and if you weren't running errands, what the hell were you doing Shae?" Kenori asked, and Shae's body hesitated at the revelation. She sighed before leaning back in her seat, only shaking her head.
