"You look boring." Shae's voice announced as Kenori made her way downstairs to showcase the outfit she chose. It was ripped jeans with a black top accompanied by some black Tasman Uggs. Something casual.

"I'm not trying to draw attention, Shae." Kenori informed her, Shae shook her head making her way towards her best friend.

"Wear a dress." Shae suggested while tapping her fingers alongside her arm.

"Absolutely not." Kenori responded immediately hearing Shae groan dramatically. "Kenni a dress won't hurt, you don't even know where you're going!" Shae exclaimed, dropping her arms as if she was in defeat.

"Okay but Mekhi full of surprises, we might just go to an arcade or something." Kenori tried to think of places Mekhi would take her, "Or out to eat, or both, shit."

"Probably, just put on that simple black dress I bought for you last year. It stops at your knees, cute, classy and simple." Shae tried to persuade Kenori, who was really contemplating it.

"No." Kenori answered with a flat tone, looking down at her phone that had just flashed, notifying her someone had texted. Shae picked it up, reading a name and smiling before passing it off to her best friend, "Your boyfriend texted," Shae teased making Kenori roll her eyes.

"He is not my boyfriend." Kenori stated after seeing Mekhi's contact name at the top of her Notification Center.

"He will be, I bet five hundred dollars, y'all ass better get together." Shae examined her nails as she spat out what she did, making Kenori eye her,"Girl, what?"

"I'm serious." Shae informed her best friend who had shot a glare at her, Kenori found it sort of annoying when Shae would say things like her and Mekhi being a couple.

"We will never get together, stop saying that shit." Kenori spat making Shae's jaw drop dramatically. Kenori opened her phone, reading the message.

"Girl all y'all do is flirt, please stop being in denial, Miss Alyce." Shae said her middle name with air quotations, "Plus who shit you take more than his? It's okay to have a crush."

"We too damn old, Shae." Kenori rolled her eyes, starting to throw on one of the many hoodies Mekhi had made for her. Just because all the other ones she would wear were in the dirty laundry, usually she would do everything to avoid wearing one of the hoodies he bought.

"So?!" Shae exclaimed, throwing her arms up. "Girl we can have a crush, hell too old is fifty four. Plus you didn't deny it, you saying you got something for him?" Shae exclaimed with a questionable look, looking at the mug that formed on Kenori's face "What?"

"Bye Shae." Kenori rolled her eyes, placing her purse on her, slanting across her body. Right then a car horn outside caught both of their attention.

"Have fun on your date, tell me what happened when you get home."

"It's not a date." Kenori huffed in response, shaking her head as Shae opened the door for her. "Whatever." Shae waved her off, closing the door before Kenori could respond. Shae really knew she could get under Kenori's skin, and Shae under Kenni's skin was like nails on a chalkboard; irritating.

Kenori looked up from the concrete, seeing Mekhi's black dodge charger parked in the driveway. She made her way to the passenger seat and sat down, immediately leaning back.

"Damn, who the fuck been up here?" Kenori asked, since the seat was laid back. She jerked forwards to lean the seat up, hearing Mekhi's faint laughter. "Nino ass." He answered.
