The glass shattered all over the floor of her kitchen, her plants and dirt scattering with it. A rush of cold wind filled the room, sending shivers down Olivia's spine as she jolted awake, her heart pounding in her chest. Before she could even register what was happening, a dark figure emerged from the shattered window, its presence looming over her like a shadowy specter.

Panic seized Olivia's senses as she scrambled backward and fell off her bed onto the floor. Her eyes wide with terror as she tried to make out the figure's features in the dim light. But it was no use; the intruder remained shrouded in darkness, his form indistinct and menacing.

"Who are you?" Olivia demanded, her voice trembling with fear as she backed away on the floor away from the intruder. "What do you want?"

The figure didn't respond, instead advancing steadily toward Olivia with an eerie silence that sent a chill down her spine. With each step he took, Olivia's heart raced faster, her mind racing with thoughts of escape and survival.

But before she could make a move, the figure lunged at her with blinding speed, his hands reaching out to grab her throat with a vice-like grip. Olivia's breath caught in her throat as she struggled against his hold, her lungs burning for air as she fought for her life. Something glinted in the light. A knife? No, it was its nails.

Olivia couldn't even scream for help. Her vision blurred as the air to her lungs was cut off.

Help! She begged, even though no one could hear her. Anyone!

In a desperate bid for survival, Olivia thrashed and kicked under the figure, her movements fueled by a primal instinct to survive. With a surge of adrenaline, she planted a kick on the intruder's abdomen and managed to break free from his grasp, scrambling on the ground away from him. She gulped greedily for air, her vision resurfacing.

Pain seared through her arm, she clutched it as blood oozed through her fingers and trickled down her arm and onto the floor. Her vision became hazy. The intruder must have slashed at her when she kicked him. Three jagged slashes etched her upper arm, each deeper than the next. She couldn't move her arm, it likely severed muscle. She blinked, trying to focus.

The figure was relentless, his eyes burning with a sinister light as he pursued her once again with unyielding determination. The was nothing Olivia could do as a guttural snarl ripped through his throat. He lunged at Olivia, his claws outstretched as he sought to deliver the killing blow.

Just as all hope seemed lost, a deafening crash echoed through the room as the door burst open, sending splinters of wood flying through the air. Through the haze of fear and confusion, Olivia caught a glimpse of two familiar figures silhouetted in the doorway.

There goes my security deposit...

"Get away from her!" a voice roared, its authority cutting through the chaos like a knife.

With a primal roar, the two themselves at the intruder, their movements a blur of speed and precision. In a matter of seconds, the room was filled with the sound of a fierce struggle, the air thick with the scent of blood and sweat.

Olivia watched in a daze as the scene unfolded before her, her mind struggling to comprehend the chaos and violence erupting in her tiny apartment. She could hear the sounds of grunts and snarls, the clash of bodies as the alpha and his companion from The Brew Haven as they battled the intruder with ferocious intensity.

Despite the pain coursing through her arm, Olivia felt a surge of gratitude toward the two men who had come to her rescue once again. With every ounce of strength she could muster, she tried to haul herself up and shuffle toward the door--the door now hanging on one hinge and in pieces. Her vision was swimming as she fought to stay conscious and stumbled over her own two feet. She grabbed the wall for support.
