Will
It was not a normal Friday night. Not at all, because tomorrow morning, Percy, Annabeth, Grover, Piper, and Jason would be graduating.
The past month had been pretty slow, even through all the senior events that were happening and the ever-present excitement in everyone about the school year ending.
But now, I knew that tomorrow, everything would move faster than ever. Their families would all be in town, so after the ceremony they all had their separate plans to celebrate. And in any normal school situation, we'd still have the entire summer to spend together before they left for college. But since we went to a boarding school, they'd all be going back home for the summer.
I stalked down the hallway and found my way to Percy and Grover's room. I knocked on the door before hearing Percy's voice from inside. "Come in! It's open."
I pushed the handle in, and the only people inside the room were Percy and Annabeth. Annabeth was sat up in his bed, paging through a book while Percy was laying down next to her scrolling on his phone.
"Hey guys," I said, crossing the room toward them. "Where's Grover?"
"He and Frank went somewhere. Downstairs or something, just to walk around. I'm not really sure," said Annabeth, closing her book. She reached over Percy and set it down on the side table. "What's wrong?"
Percy glanced up at me over the screen of his phone.
"Nothing." I paused, looking over at the closet door. It was shut, but hanging up over the door were Percy's and Grover's caps and gowns.
Percy followed my line of sight and sighed. "It still doesn't feel real."
I smiled back and climbed into the bed in between them like I was a child and they were my parents. And I think about the day we all met.

"Annnnnddddd this is the dining hall," Percy stated. It was my first day at Goode. The only people currently on campus were the freshman class, fall sport athletes, and representatives from the junior and senior classes who were responsible for giving tours to the freshman.
I'd been extremely nervous the entire day. My Mom brought me up and dropped me off with all my stuff, and I was really on my own. I was scared shitless.
I went and got my room assignment. On the way up to my dorm, I started wishing my Mom hadn't just left me even though I wasn't on speaking terms with her, because I saw other kids with their parents helping them move in. I'd felt so out of place until I walked into my room and met my roommate.
He introduced himself to me as Leo Valdez, and I'd quickly noticed that he, unlike every other kid I'd seen all day, also didn't have a parent helping him move in. And although neither of us mentioned it, we both noticed it, and I think it gave us an automatic understanding of each other.
He was really cool too— he was so funny and could crack a joke about anything, and always at the right time. We clicked immediately. Things were never awkward.
Later in the day we had a tour from the junior class representatives. They had been doing tours all day, going by each hall in our dorms. By the time Leo and I's hall got called, we'd been talking nonstop the entire day, so that didn't exactly end when we were supposed to be quiet and attentive.
The two leading the tour introduced themselves as Percy and Annabeth.
As they showed us around the dining hall, Leo and I whispered to each other furiously, talking about everything and nothing at all. Leo had made a joke about something, and I tried so hard to be quiet, but the fact that we weren't really supposed to be talking over Percy and the other kids were giving us dirty looks just made whatever he said ten times funnier.
