Dragon Dream (Completed)

Chapter 4

"Not his problem? If he wants-" I lifts my hands up into quotation marks, mimicking his rude and deep voice. "'the outcome' he could at least help me!"

I sigh as I continue walking. I've been walking for way to long and now I'm still going and I'm having to find three people! The train took me straight into the edge of town, so now I have to find a cheap place to sleep for the night, so I don't burn all my saved money.

It felt like I've been walking for hours. All the places available where nice expensive hotels. What did I expect? This is the capital, basically everyone here has money. The only slightly affordable place is the inn not to far from the center of town, but this place is so big I'm not sure if I can get there again.

"Excuse me, miss?"

I look down and see a little girl is next to me, looking at me nervously. I guess not everyone here is rich, the poor girls clothes are so torn up.

"Can I touch your hair?"

I smile, moving my long braid infront of me and bending down on one knee. Alot of kids back home loved my hair, being the longest they'd ever seen.

"It's long huh? When it's unbraided it goes past my hips!"

"Wow!"

She looks amazed at my dark, reddish brown hair. No more fear in her eyes as she slowly moves her thumb, rubbing the bumps of the braid.

"Hey! You kids get out of here!"

She gasps as she looks up, I go to say something but when I turn around I see another child, her age digging in my bag. They where trying to steal from me! The two of them run away quickly, not wanting to get in trouble. I see nothing in there hands, but make sure to start checking my bag anyway.

"Did they take anything?"

I sigh a relief, they are smart but not very thorough. The money I have left from Terran is still here and nothing else seems gone.

"No, nothing gone. If they had acouple more seconds I'm sure they would have taken something. Thank you."

"No problem."

He sticks his hand out, offering to help me up. On a normal day I would have ignored his hand, but I'm new to town I need to not be noticed, and being almost robbed two seconds ago isn't helping. So getting on my two feet again he doesn't move, and starts shaking my hand.

"I'm Dylan by the way."

"Huh, that's a normal name, I'm Kimi."

He laughs, and I feel like an idiot, I can't change the way I talk apparently. By normal name I didn't mean an insult, a long time ago people thought if you name your child something with one of the four elements it increased your chances of being a Dragon eventually everyone did it and many generations of names mean water, fire, earth, or air or something to do with them. Which means most names aren't Nicole, Nathan, Matthew, Jack, Harper, Mallory or in this case, Dylan.

"Heh, yeah still has the same intent though, it means 'great tide'."

"Ah, guess your parents weren't lucky huh? Great tide, sounds like you had a good chance."

He laughs again, seeming to be a shorter one, before he speaks again.

"Are you alright? I'm sure getting robbed doesn't add up to a good day."

"Well, since I wasn't stolen from I'd say it's slightly better than that outcome. I'm just tired from traveling, didn't keep my gaurd up."

"When kids see a beautiful lady they try their best with the same questions."

'Beautiful'? 'Lady'? I'd never been called something like that at my small town. Is he just saying that or does he mean it? It clicks in his mind, with what he just said, and he tries to justify himself.

"Ah, you know... Young, pretty, gullable- Not that your gullable! I know how tiring traveling can be, Great Divine! Umm."

I just smile, he must not hit on alot of girls the way he's trying to explain himself. A hand on his forehead he pushes up his dark blonde bangs. Hidding his ocean blue eyes as he closes them. Which may be the only thing he got out of 'great tide'.

"I think you just mean people who look gullable, and since I'm tired that would make me a canadate."

He looks at me with a smile, I saved him from saying anything else wrong and he seems thankful.

"Well, since your new to town is there anything I can help you with?"

"Is that just another way to make me forget what you said?"

He chuckles, "Ah, seeing right through me, it's a yes and a no."

"Well, you could tell me where the central inn is."

"Wanting to see the Dragon Hall are we?"

"The what?"

He looks at me with the same confused expression on my face.

"Your telling me you came to Unithar unprepared? This place is known for the Dragons, the Dragon Hall is where they live! People take guided tours there and around town."

I know a lot about the past Dragons from my dad, but nothing about the Dragons now. I need to do my research.

"I'm here for work. Not sight seeing."

At least I'm being honest. I am here for the Dragons, not to sight see, and getting the Dragons in a way is a commission so work.

"Well that just won't do! I'll tell you what, I work in the Dragon Hall, come by sometime say your there for Dylan Goodman. I'll give you a personal tour, free of charge!"

Have I hit the jackpot! I meet a guy who works where the Dragons live and I can go inside? This will require hardly any time, I'll be in and out of here with Danica in no time! Okay, I'm not supposed to be interested in the Dragons how do I make it seem like I'm available to go, but can't, but am torn and can't say a flat no?

"Oh, I can't bother you with that! I'm sure you have lots of work there-"

"What do you do for work?"

"Umm, I'm an adventurer, I take commissions and-"

"Great! So I'm assuming you can use a sword?"

"Yes I can, but what does that have to do with anything?"

"The Water Dragon is needing, let's just say help on mastering his swordsmanship skills. So now you have an excuse to come!"

Definitely hit some sort of jackpot.
