With the light atmosphere, that Amity brought back home after her reconnection with the Palisman, Luz felt that finally, after over three weeks in the Human Realm, their vacation had finally begun.
It did not take long for Clawthorne to feel better after her girlfriend got accustomed to Ghost's power, and once Danielle was sure that the lavender-haired witch was safe, she was happy to leave five young people to plan their trip.
The doctor asked Gus in secret to make sure Luz and Amity would stay as far away from Gravesfield as possible. Danielle wanted to deal with the mother of the witch that she unknowingly imprinted on. She could not deny anymore that in the short two weeks, she came to care for Amity as if she were her own.
With that in mind, Gus was not only happy to help keep his friends safe but he also was glad to reconnect with people like him. He kept saying that the Human Realm was his home now, he was happy with Jane as his mother and Albert as his brother, but the more time he spent with the witches, the more he came to the realization there was a part of him longing for the Demon Realm.
Gus' expertise in both worlds helped his friends feel more comfortable so Hunter had no shame and asked about everything, doing a terrible job at pretending that he was not as excited about seeing the new world as Amity was.
Since he apologized to the lavender-haired witch and while they still pretended to hate one another, they started warming up to each other, bonding through the hardships they endured growing up.
While apologizing, Hunter explained that his Palisman, Flapjack, suggested the approach after communicating with Ghost. The look Amity sent her companion after learning the truth would send chills to the dead man's back. That information triggered a rather interesting and energetically-told story of how Hunter and Willow got their Palismans.
Hunter asked Willow to fill everyone in on how they got lost in the Bat Queen's forest while helping Dell Clawthorne. After standing up to the Demoness, she forced them to complete the impossible trials she was famous for. The last one was to state their deepest wish.
While Willow always knew she wanted to be strong and wise and protect everyone she loved, making anyone who stood in her way feel the sting of defeat, Hunter had no idea what to say. It took him longer than he cared to admit that he wanted to be loved without being useful or proving his worth all the time.
That information resonated strongly within Amity, who knew better than anyone else how tortuous it was to live the way to justify one's existence, trying to see every situation as an opportunity to prove oneself, and it helped her warm up to the quiet and overly closed-off red-eyed witch who always seemed to be on edge, keeping his guard up.
Yet Amity could not stop admiring how Luz made Hunter let his guard down. She was proud to call that ball of sunshine, who brought happiness to the lives of everyone she met, her girlfriend. Despite everything the human went through and all the pain she kept living with, Clawthorne did not let life bring her down.
Amity thought that whatever happened in the afternoon before their road trip, between Luz and Danielle, most certainly helped the younger brunette find peace with everything that happened to her years ago. All Blight knew was that her girlfriend finally found the courage to visit her parents' grave.
Luz did not tell Amity that she slowly came to terms with what happened to her. With Danielle's support, she felt more at peace with losing her parents so early on. Watching her girlfriend reconnect with her Palisman made her hopeful about her future too. A future she was certain she wanted to spend with the lavender-haired witch.

"Luz, wake up," Luz heard Amity whisper, making her groan in annoyance, "Come on, Luz," Clawthorne smiled slightly, sensing the excitement that the witch was barely containing.
