The next day, the siblings spent the morning at Collin Tower, Adrielle fixing her things and Alexis resting.
In the afternoon, after Miss Dallas' call, they went out, walked around the building, then shopped in a grocery store.
They just entered the elevator to get back into their room when Laura rushed in before the door closed.
"Lex!?" she called out in surprise.
Adrielle's eyes widened in surprise, but Alexis only smiled tightly.
She bumped into Troy last time in the elevator as well and he informed her that Laura and a few other employees of EDA also stay in the tower.
"So you stay here?" Laura asked as she pressed a floor number.
"Yeah," she made a nod, suddenly feeling a little uncomfortable.
"And are you feeling better now? Carl told me what happened to you last night," Laura spoke again and at the mention of 'Carl' and not Mr. Anderson, the uneasiness in Alexis' heart increased.
However, she pushed it down and replied, "Yeah. Working with Miss Dallas is quite a challenge. But I'm fine now. I was able to rest this morning."
"Oh, I see," Laura nodded and looked at her. It was then that she saw Adrielle. "Oh, hi," she greeted with her pleasant smile.
Adrielle smiled back at her. "Hi."
"I wasn't able to talk to you at the airport. I'm Laura, if Lex hadn't told you about me yet," she glanced at Alexis while extending her hand.
Adrielle quickly accepted it and replied, "Not yet," she smiled. "I'm Adrielle."
"Woah, nice name," Laura replied still with a smile. "How old are you?"
"I'm eighteen," Adrielle smiled back.
"Oh, still studying?" Laura asked further.
"Uhm, not anymore. I got sick and so I stopped."
"Really? Is it serious?" Laura asked again, looking from Adrielle to her.
Alexis smiled apologetically since she hadn't shared with her about Adrie.
"Heart problem," Adrielle answered.
"What?" Laura looked at Adrielle with unbelieving eyes.
"Just had surgery a month ago. I'm grateful to God that I am still here."
"Oh," Laura replied and her eyes moistened in sympathy. She reached for her arm and gave her a gentle squeeze. "God is good."
Adrielle smiled and her eyes revealed she was touched.
"Ding!" The elevator sounded and the door opened.
"Oh, I'm here," Laura looked at them.
"See you tomorrow, if not here, at EDA," she grinned and winked at Alexis then walked out.
After the door closed, Adrielle faced Alexis and said, "Isn't she so kind? Oh, they really suit each other."
"What are you talking about?" Alexis frowned.
"Her, Miss Laura," Adrielle pointed out. "She matches Mr. Anderson. They're both so kind," Adrielle replied with eyes filled with admiration.
The frown remained on Alexis' countenance and her eyes stayed on Adrielle's face.
Adrielle, who was looking forward, didn't notice her confusion and continued to speak in reverie. "I wonder when can I also meet my soulmate."
"Adrie, what are you saying about Laura?" she wanted to be enlightened.
