Despite of the uneasy feeling Alexis had after hearing the manager, she doesn't know how to oppose it so she just swallowed, nodded, and stood.

"I will go then Mr. Caldwell," she spoke before turning around with the papers in her hand.

When she arrived on the seventh floor, she asked Mrs. Cole about the past designs.

The older woman gave it to her which she carefully studied. What she only saw was that the design greatly improved. What is being looked for by the client is still a wonder.

It left her the only option - to meet and talk to her.

Laying the papers of the past design on the desk, she spoke. "Mrs. Cole, is it possible for you to arrange a meeting for me with Mrs. Sheridan? I need to meet her, you know, to be able to get her taste." She hoped she wouldn't need to see Carl.

"Oh... Mr. Anderson can do that for you," Mrs. Cole smiled. "Go in, he will give time for you. Just tell him it's about Mrs. Sheridan."

Alexis's bit her lower lip in a bit of dismay.

"Just treat him as Mr. Anderson, the president of the company where you work, and not Blynn from your past," she encourage herself.

She nodded and gave a small smile to Mrs. Cole then walked towards the closed door and knocked.

"Come in." The formal reply came and she drew a deep breath before twisting the knob.

She was surprised to meet his eyes behind a pair of glasses. She can't stop herself from admiring his professional handsome look in a working mode.

"What is it?" Carl frowned at her as he pulled down his glasses.

Alexis quickly composed herself and then spoke. "Sir, it's about Mrs. Sheridan, the client of this design?" she raised the paper she was holding and took some steps closer.

"Didn't Albert tell you everything about it?" Carl still wore a frown.

"Yes, but I would like to request a meeting with her. For me to know what she really wants, I need to get to know her first. So, I can't begin until I'll meet her," she tried her best to speak professionally.

Carl narrowed his eyes. After a moment of silence, he nodded.

"Alright. Sit down and I'll arrange for a meeting."

The command was formal which made her follow easily. She watched him stand as he picked up his phone and made a call.

Not wanting her mind to linger on dangerous ground, she looked again at the papers she was holding and focused on thinking about what she wanted to revise if it was her.

Carl's conversation with Mrs. Sheridan was quick. The businesswoman easily agreed.

He turned to relay the information to the woman who requested it but was paused seeing her serious countenance with her eyes glued on the paper she was holding.

A tinge of inexplicable warmth sprung in his heart which he quickly suppressed by choosing to speak. "The meeting will be at 9 tomorrow at her company."

Alexis looked at him casually and nodded. "Alright, I'll take my leave then," she then stood and walked away.

"Wait..." Carl spoke and was surprised to hear the same word from her. He clamped his mouth as he narrowed his eyes on her.

Alexis made a quick smile and then asked, "Which company?"

"We'll go together," he replied stolidly as he sat on his chair.

Alexis' eyes widened in surprise.

Carl looked at her. "Wear something more formal and... nicer," he said what he wanted to say a while ago.
