3 months later,

Namjoon clicked open the door, cautious not to awaken Jisoo. Nowadays, she cheered in day but turned fatigued at night. All the day's energy dropped at night, sometimes making her skip her dinners. But, Namjoon, the ever-alert father-to-be insisted she maintain the ideal routine.

He climbed upstairs and entered their room where the hush of the house was punctured by someone's timid snores. Jisoo had slipped into slumber, the ongrowing 5 month old bump, heaving along her chest. This mere sight lifted the edges of Namjoon's mouth. Such sights might be considered normal for others but he rejoiced every second he was accompanying her and their child.

He tiptoed beside and tucked the strands of hair aside. His fingers ran through her hair. Lost in fondness, the admirer planted a kiss on her temple when a stir averted his attention. His palms flew to that spot, eager to feel another movement of the baby. The baby kicked Jisoo for the first time during her 4th month. Recently, he also detected some motions though barely comprehensible.

He caressed the tiny swell on her belly. A smile played on his lips. Good Night, little one. Let eomma sleep now.

Sunshine drilled inside the room, cracking open Jisoo's eyelids. She found Namjoon draped in formal apparel, elaborating his hair.

She blinked, moaning to the haze of weariness that still clung.

"Good Morning, yeobo." Namjoon wandered to her.

"Mmm,"

"We have the doctor's appointment today."

Jisoo arose slowly, gathering her vision.

"Today, we are going to find out our baby's gender." He cooed.

"Hmm," she extended her arms towards him. He hauled her up and she started getting ready.

At the doctor's chamber,

"You have any wish about the gender?" Jisoo asked.

Namjoon shrugged, "I don't care if it's a boy or girl. You have any?"

"No, I would love it whether it's a boy or girl. But, I feel it's a boy." She rubbed her belly.

The doctor came in. "Hello, Mr and Mrs Kim. Hope you are prepared for the ultrasound." They nodded and entered the veiled room beside.

Jisoo swallowed the cold lump built inside her throat, resting on the hospital bed. She had numerable of this session before but each time her nerves tightened. Perhaps the newly steps in parenthood welcomed unascertainity and confusion they were countering.

Namjoon's hand had interlocked with hers, convincing with unspoken words. His undivided attention towards her care had imbued her in these months of fluctuating hormones. How he cared for her every moment! He would indulge her even sacrificing his sleep or own benefit. These served as meaning that he was to becoming the greatest father ever.

The doctor drifted at her side. Their gazes fixed on her. "So, Mrs Kim, today we are to learn the baby's gender alongside running some checkups of its other functions. I hope you two are ready."

Jisoo gazed at Namjoon. He showed a smile. The doctor peeled off her hospital gown and squeezed a gel onto her belly. Then, pressed the wand on the middle, sending chills inside her underskin.

Namjoon's hold tightened. His eye ducts squinted to observe the movements on screen.

After revolves, a white form emerged, constantly moving. "Uhuh, there is your baby." The doctor angled the monitor at them. A tiny body writhing and jabbing its sag. Jisoo sensed her eyes moisten when a  stroke sparkled below Namjoon's cheek.

"Quite active. You feel it's kicks now?"

Jisoo shook her head.

The doctor glided the wand downward, urging Jisoo' bladder. Jisoo sucked in mouthful of breaths to resist the tension.

"It's shy to reveal its gender." The doctor grinned. Jisoo gagged the unease in her lower abdomen.

"It's-it's a boy!"

The anticipating parents exchanged stares, flabbergasted before erupting into tears of joy. "Our boy!" Namjoon chuckled and kissed her knuckles.

"I told you it's a boy." Jisoo grazed his hair. A crescent escaped her lips. A junior Namjoon was arriving and she was restless to cuddle him.

"Huh, I told you it was a boy." Bang seok smirked. "Yup, give us our money now." frowned Baekhyun.

Jungkook rolled his eyes, vexed at their win.  Having mostly the company of males, he dreamed of a girl in their group. Now, the prob fell in vain. "Here you go," he thumped the bundle of notes on the table.

Taemin fired him a dirty look. "I shouldn't have trusted you." And landed his bait.

"All happened because of you. Your jinxed luck has done all this." Jungkook whined, bursting the opposers in laughter.

Taemin scorned, "Make sure to have a girl in your time."

"Gambling is a vague thing. You shouldn't have trusted the process anyways." sighed Minho.

"My baby isn't a thing to bet on." Namjoon grimaced.

"Yo we were were having fun and money. That's it. At least today Taemin has unlocked his locker for us."

Baekhyun jeered, "How much he has got, this amount doesn't bother him. By the way, itsy bitsy looney tune, father-to-be Namjoon, how are you dealing with Jisoo?"

"She is most of the time calm. But gets cravings anytime, even at midnight. Except that, all is going well. She does her own things. Just turns irate when the little one kicks her bladder too much."

"That's my boy." Bang seok hollered. "What's life without fun?"

A chuckle slipped from Namjoon's lips. The bliss the baby had brought forth already, it was sure that he would be everyone's apple of eye with his arrival.
