"dad?" i sneaked back into the house. "dad?" i yelled more. nothing, silence. no movement or nothing. luke left me, here, being as though someone was here. but no one was.

i did one thing, that i had been wanting to do, forever. i sneaked off to the beach. i got there and they were quite a few people around, so i wasn't worried.

i set my stuff down with my towel, and walked out. i let the ocean water touch my foot and then i went up to my ankle, knees, and then i stopped at thighs. i looked around, no one said anything. i was alone out here.

i saw other people going farther out, and i was like let's go. not heeding luke's word, and just going anyways.

i made it to waist deep, and i felt my cautiousness let me go and i went farther out. once i couldn't touch the bottom anymore, i stopped and looked around.

the waves were rolling, nothing to heavy. i just enjoyed being pulled and back. before i knew it though, i was out in no man's land as people like to call it.

there were a few people around, mostly surfers. i saw my stuff on the beach, and was like, it was fun, but i was going to go back to the sand.

wrong idea. i felt a tug on my right leg, didn't think much of it, maybe seaweed. but then i noticed that it started to hurt, i started panicking.

i was getting tugged farther out, from land, from people, and i turned around and i saw the fin. i realized what happened back then, is happening now.

someone came over to me, and i didn't know who it was, but they were willing to help. "just grab onto me, lifeguards are coming." they said to me. but as the person held my arms to stay on the board, the shark was pulling me back out in the water. i then felt a tug, then a tear.

"my leg!" the surfer noticed, and looked into the water and saw redness covering it.

then i felt razor sharp teeth, sinking into my skin, and i felt pain. i tried not to scream, but it couldn't be done.

i screamed.
