It was a week later when Auradon found out that Jay and Lonnie had been married for almost two months. The post went viral, the Auradon press picked up the story and there were articles for days on end. Jay and Lonnie decided to remain away from the public eye until the news cycle died down. Unfortunately, it only died down three weeks later when Mal went into labour. The kingdom buzzed with excitement as they awaited news of the Princess's arrival. As Jay and Lonnie arrived to the hospital, the press had situated themselves across the street, and immediately, they were swarmed with questions about their wedding and even prodded for the name of the baby Princess.
"We're not offering any comments at this time," Jay told them all as the couple entered the hospital. In the hospital foyer, Jay and Lonnie were met by Maleficent and Hades. "How's she doing?" Jay asked the older couple.
"The pain meds aren't helping as much as she'd hoped," Hades mentioned. "I think Ben may need a cast on his hand once this is all over. She also kicked us out, so I think we're all best to hang out in the waiting room."
"That sounds pretty on brand for Mal," Lonnie snorted.
"That media swarm out there is ridiculous," Maleficent sighed. "Maybe I should go out there and—"
"Oh, no, you don't, Lef," Hades laughed, noticing his wife's green eyes. "Our daughter doesn't need her mother overshadowing her on her big day by charring the press."
"I mean, technically, I could—"
"Jay, don't encourage the chaos," Hades cut him off. "We're going to sit in the waiting room, greet your friends as they arrive and wait for Mal and Ben to announce the birth of their little girl. She needs us to be on our best behaviour as her friends and family. There's no need to make the media circus worse."
Before long, the rest of the friends showed up, so Jay video called Jane and Carlos. "What's up?" Carlos said as he answered.
"Haven't you been watching the news?" Jay asked, and Carlos shook his head. "Mal's in labour, dude."
"Really?!" Carlos exclaimed. "That's awesome! Jane, come here!"
"Hey, Jay," Jane smiled, her head coming into view. "How are you?"
"Mal's in labour, babe!" Carlos informed her excitedly.
"Oh, that's amazing!" she said happily. "Do we have an ETA?"
"She went in at around 6 this morning," Jay informed them. "So she's been in there for almost ten hours now."
"Oh, wow, even Evie didn't take that long," Jane noted.

Before long, a notice was posted outside the castle gates, announcing that Princess Macy was delivered at 5:36pm that evening and that mother and baby were both doing well. Mal and Ben hosted their friends in their hospital room, couple by couple, before finally, Chad and Audrey left to go home.
"Oh, Mal, she's beautiful," Maleficent cooed, cradling her newborn granddaughter.
"Just like her mom," Ben smiled happily.
"I can't believe Jay and Lonnie got married under our noses!" Mal complained, and no one would have guessed that she'd just given birth a few hours prior. "Jane and Carlos are off on a gap year, Gil and Harriet even got engaged without us knowing about it for weeks... it feels like we're all drifting apart. I hardly see Evie now that she's so busy with the twins. Maybe having kids has ruined our friendships."
"Mal, no," Hades told her. "You're likely to disappear for a few weeks, too. It's a lot to adjust to having a baby. You'll all come back together for college next semester."
