Mal and Ben followed a hurrying Evie to her dorm room. "E, what's going on?" Mal asked after the three of them were in the room.

"I'm going to propose to Doug," Evie explained. "Do you think he'll like this ring?" Evie opened the ring box to reveal a silver men's ring with tiny diamonds embedded along the edges.

"Evie, oh my, Godmother!" Mal exclaimed.

"Is it too much?!" Evie asked, alarmed. "Oh, I knew it! I knew it would be too much!"

"No, Evie, it will suit Doug very well," Ben reassured her. "Mal is just getting emotional over the prospect of you and Doug actually getting married. Just give her a minute."

Evie laughed, looking at Mal, who was staring at the ring in disbelief with tears in her eyes. A moment later, Mal pulled Evie into a breathtaking hug.

"I'm so happy for you, E!" she cried.

"Thanks, M," Evie smiled. "But I didn't just bring you here to look at the ring... I need your help planning how I'm going to propose to Doug."

"Scavenger hunt?" Mal asked. "You're both such braniacs, he'll love it, and you'll enjoy watching him do it."

"You're right!" Evie said. "Where should we put the clues? Who else are we going to need to involve?"

While the girls fawned over the ring and planned the proposal, Ben headed back to his office to plan the joining of the USA and the Isle. He sent a limo to pick up Maleficent and bring her to Auradon so he could discuss a plan to join the two populations together.

Mal was soon back in her own room after helping Evie plan out her engagement.

She sighed as she laid down. "Three and a half months now, little one," she said, smiling down at her stomach. "You've been in there three and a half months and you're already starting trouble." She laughed, then felt a flutter in her stomach. She gasped. "Ben!" she called. "Ben, get in here!"

Ben ran into the bedroom from his office, panicking. "Is the baby okay?!" he asked, alarmed.

"Yeah," Mal giggles. "They kicked." She put Ben's hand on her stomach where the baby was kicking.

"Wow," he breathed, enjoying his baby's first kicks. A knock was heard on the door. "Come in!" Ben called happily.

Lumiere walked in. "Your Majesty, Maleficent has arrived at the front of the palace," he smiled.

Mal shot up. "Mom?!" she exclaimed before racing down to meet her mother.

Ben smiled. "Thank you, Lumiere," he said, dismissing the former candle before heading downstairs to meet with Maleficent.

"Mom, the baby just kicked!" Mal was saying to her mother excitedly.

"That's excellent, Mal," Maleficent smiled.

Ben cleared his throat. "Maleficent, welcome back," he said, smiling apologetically. "I would like to formally apologise for my outburst earlier and for demanding that you be sent back to the Isle."

"It's quite alright, King Ben," Maleficent told him, still smiling. "I don't blame you, really. After all of the evil I did in this land, I wouldn't trust me very much either, regardless of whether or not I returned from a spell that required me to be a good person to come out of it. But, I'd like to thank you for allowing me a fresh start."
