"I feel so terrible that they still aren't talking," Maleficent stated as she and Hades ate with Belle and Adam. "It's been two weeks. It's such a small thing for them to fight about."

"Maybe to us," Belle explained, "but they're still young. It felt like a personal attack when Jane, Carlos, Uma and Harry didn't tell anyone for so long, and pointing it out to them felt like a personal attack to them. They'll make up eventually, but everyone's egos are a bit too bruised at the moment for them to think about making up."

"They need to make up before this little one is here," the horned woman responded. "I'm not doing seperate meetings for everyone."

"You've only got three weeks left, right?" Adam asked. "Are you getting nervous?"

"Yeah," Hades chuckled. "It's been 18 years since we've had to look after a newborn."

"Has it?" Belle questioned.

"What?" Hades frowned, confused.

"I just thought that..." Belle trailed off, realising her mistake. "Never mind. It's nothing. Just a bit of a brain fart."

Maleficent frowned, not buying it. "Are you sure?" she asked.

"Yeah," Belle smiled. "On a completely unrelated note, I have somewhere to be. I'll see you all at dinner."

The rest of the family watched as she set off on her journey, pulling her phone out to send a text to someone. It made Hades' hair stand on end. What could she have meant by what she said?

Evie and Hadie met Belle at Auradon Prep, confused as to why she had asked them there.

"What's this about, Belle?" Evie questioned. "And is it going to take long? Doug is stuck at home on his own with the twins and I worry for his sanity."

"This shouldn't take too long," Belle replied, frowning. "Evie, do you happen to know who your dad is?"

Evie shook her head. "Mom always said he took off after they did it," she replied.

"And Hadie, am I correct in assuming you're Hades' son?" Belle asked.

"Yeah," the boy answered, putting his head down.

"I don't think Hades knows," the former queen stated. "And Evie? I think he might be your dad."

"What?" Evie scoffed. "No, that's... impossible. That would mean that Hades cheated on Maleficent. He wouldn't do that. Would he?"

"Maybe," Belle answered. "He was a different god back then. But I'm not sure. And Hadie, you've been in Auradon for almost a year now. Why haven't you tried getting into contact with Hades?"

"I just assumed he wouldn't want anything to do with me," he shrugged. "The way Mom talked about him, I figured he wasn't exactly the fatherly type."

"He couldn't have had a chance to be if she never gave him one," Belle pointed out. "Like, for instance, telling him he had a child in the first place. Evie, I want you to talk to your mom and get more answers. And don't mention any of this to Mal. If my suspicions are correct, and I suspect they are, her world is about to be turned upside down and I fear she'll suffer a setback."

Evie nodded and took off, leaving Belle and Hadie to continue speaking and calling her mother. "Evie!" the Evil Queen greeted her happily. "How are my favourite people going?"
