A/N: So I was going to focus on one story at a time but then I really wanted to publish this so yeah- This story is written soooo much better then the other one and I'll probably update this one more since I'm a bit invested in this- Anyways enjoy!
Julie's P.O.V:
I woke up this morning and I knew I was in trouble, today was the last day I had to perform or I was out of the music program. I loved music but ever since my mum died I haven't been able to walk into the studio or touch my mum's piano without bursting into tears.
I had put on a t-shirt, jeans and my "Depressed Jul Flannel" as my mum used to call it, it's an oversized flannel that I like to wear when I feel sad and I've been wearing it a lot since my mum passed. I grab a cap on my way out of my room along with my school bag.
When I reach the bottom step I hear Carlos and dad talking and I smile to myself. Carlos and dad both had a hard time after mum passed too but they both have been getting better. I'm glad.
I walk into the kitchen, grab a banana and head out after saying bye to dad and Carlos. Just before I open the door I hear my dad calling me back. "Oh! Julie," I stop and turn around.
"Yeah, dad?" I ask.
Dad reaches over to the table next to the door and picks up pliers which I hadn't noticed before. "Can you drop these off at Mitch's before you go to school?" I sigh but nod. Mitch and Emily are our neighbors who live right across the street from us, they're both angels, it's their son, Luke, that I don't like.
Luke is a brat who always finds a way to make my school life miserable. He is in a band, 'Sunset Swerve' or something, with Reggie, Alex and Bobby. Alex and Reggie were amazing people but Bobby was an asshole, and I don't go around swearing at people so you know I mean it. Bobby was even worse than Luke because at least Luke knows not to cross the line, Bobby doesn't even know a line exists.
I walk out the door after saying bye to my dad again and as I'm walking through the path I literally bump into Luke. I look up and glare at him. "What are you doing here?" I snap even though I know he's probably heading to the garage/studio. When we were 9 my mum had offered our studio for Luke to use as well, which really annoyed me since I never got enough practice after that.
"Going to the studi- Why do you have pliers?" He eyes the pliers as if I'm about to gut him with them, which I very much feel like doing.
"I was just-" I stop as an idea forms in my head, I smile innocently up at him. "I was just coming back from the garage." He raises an eyebrow as my smile turns into a smirk. "You're six string doesn't exactly have six strings anymore." My smirk widens in time with his eyes. When my words properly register into his head he pushes past me and runs towards the studio.
"Fuck you, Molina!" He screams on his way.
"In your dreams, Patterson!" I call back. I smile to myself as I continue on my way. I quickly cross the street and give Mitch the pliers before I continue on my way to Flynn's house. Flynn's been my best friend for as long as I can remember and I don't know what I would have done if she wasn't with me this past year.
As I walk towards Flynn's my thoughts drift. I feel bad for lying to Luke but he'll figure out I was only joking. Luke and I have an odd relationship. Most of the time we're at eachothers throats but sometimes when one of us is feeling exceptionally alone and broken we call a truce.
Our truces started the same year my mum offered our studio for his band to practice in. Back then the band was just Luke, Reggie and Alex. I had found Luke crying in the garage and I hate seeing people cry. I had gone over and hugged him, at first he'd resisted but eventually he gave up and hugged me back.
