The Gemini coven was once a large family, to anyone looking in from the outside world be shocked to hear that there were ten children, two sets of twins and six siblings in between, but to the Parker's they were just a family of eight, the two abominations were not included. They were burdens who brought shame across their entire bloodline because Malachai and Cassandra were siphoners, demons walking the earth.

Cassie Parker claimed she didn't care about the people that left her but there would always be a part of her that yearned for answers, just a simple explanation. Malachai knew why, he knew exactly why his parents banished her. He was twenty when yet another sister was born but this was different — because this one was like him. He knew there was something fundamentally wrong with him and that was part of the reason as to why he was treated differently than the rest of his brothers and sisters but his newest sister was hardly days old when they gave up on her. Cassandra's birth truly put into perspective how wrong the coven was and Malachai made sure to fix that. He didn't get to finish his revenge but one day The Gemini would pay but that is a story for a later date.

The siphoner walked through the woods in the early hours of the morning, with sleep came nightmares, memories — the cloaked coven, everything that happened on the Smoky mountains, Stefan's fangs digging around in her neck. She wondered if her family would care to know if she died or not, nobody had demolished her gravestone. Months had passed since Damon told the town she died and nobody sharing her last name had come looking for answers. So no, Cassie didn't think they would care.

It seemed like everyone had at least had one person left from their family. The Salvatore brothers, the Gilbert siblings, Bonnie had her dad and her mother now, the Forbes family were still standing despite all that came their way. But Cassie? She had no one. Even the bloody Mikaelsons had each other. Well, Klaus had them...in coffins.

Cassie couldn't help but feel her heart twist in jealousy every time she saw one of her friends leave her to be with their family, they were all she had. She knew it was stupid and selfish, however, she just longed for a family that would accept her and not give up on her.

"Cassandra."

At the sound of her name she whipped her head around to see her favourite original in a suit standing before her. "Elijah!" Cassie exclaimed, beaming wildly as she tackled him into a hug.

Elijah Mikaelson's lips switched up fondly, "I trust my brother kept his word by keeping you safe."

Oh, 'Lijah.

She separated from the hug, eyebrows scrunched in confusion, "Do you not remember?"

"You entered my mind not too long ago, that I remember."
