In the library of the Salvatore boarding house Stefan walked around the room, demonstrating the enormous lie he would tell Klaus to lure him back into town. After freeing his brother from the chains Lexi put him in Damon and Stefan went to a bar where Mikael found them.
"Let's say that Mikael followed Elena in here," the emotionless vampire said, "He tried to grab her, so he could use her as bait."
Elena sat beside Cassie on the arm of a chair, "And you what?" she asked, "Vervained him?"
"No, we vervained him!" Damon corrected, "This guy is an Original, make it realistic."
The plan had to be fault proof. The hybrid was smart, he had been running from Mikael for a thousand years, there was no way he would simply fall into one of his traps.
Stefan continued the next part, "Okay, fine. We vervained him, and in the process discovered that he had a dagger."
"Which he planned to use on Rebekah, but instead..." Elena trailed off.
"We drove it through his heart," he finished.
"I drove it through his heart," Cassie rectified, "Klaus knows I'll do anything for Elena, even protecting her against Mikael." She wasn't going to let anyone mess up this plan. She could finally be safe from Klaus, Elena would be safe.
Elena squeezed her shoulder, "And what happens when he asks to see Mikael's body?"
Damon nodded, "Good point! You my brother have been compelled to do what Klaus says. So the idea is to lure him back here and kill him...last thing we need is you getting tripped up and tongue-tied."
Stefan rolled his eyes, "Well, don't look at me. I am just in charge of getting him back here."
"Klaus is smart." Cassie stated, "If we tell him that Mikael is dead, he'll want proof."
Mikael stepped into the room, "Then I shall be dead." She knew he was here, lingering around listening in on their conversation but seeing him in person was different. He studied the room, knowing exactly who was who and then his wandering eyes stopped on Cassie. "We meet again, siphoner."
She blinked. "Excuse me?"
He carried himself much like Elijah did, "You don't remember." Mikael concluded, "Understandable, you were no less than five I would say."
