When Cassie Parker first arrived in Mystic Falls she was a mere toddler, blissfully unaware of what occured the previous day in Portland. Now she was eighteen, tangled in a web of supernatural and still none the wiser about the events of May tenth, nineteen-ninety-four.Curiosity got the better of her often throughout childhood but Sheila changed the subject. The Gemini coven would only bring the girl trouble, Cassie caught on eventually though the questions never ceased. She stopped asking completely around early teenage years as she strived in witchcraft, siphoning to practise — using the ability that was a reminder that she wasn't good enough for her blood family.
She still thought about it, watching the Salvatore brothers rebuild their relationship from pure hatred to an unbreakable bond had spiked her interest in her family again, which only grew stronger as the Mikaelson siblings arrived into town. Cassie wondered if she had any other siblings than an older brother. Did they miss her? What happened to her brother?
One trip to the mansion in town and the answers would be hers. Cassie wasn't entirely sure if Elijah and Klaus knew about the Parker family or just the Gemini coven, either way, they knew more than she did. It was a start. A start she was hesitant to make. They gave her up for a reason, she was declared dead for three months and nobody came running so she was certain they didn't care about her but deep down she cared about them, despite what she told people. A pink baby blanket was all she had from her family, that and a stuffed bear.
"You're moping." Cassie glanced up from a grimoire, seeing Elena stand in her doorway.
"You're leaving town, I'm jealous." She corrected, turning a page.
Elena stepped further into the room, "You love Mystic Falls."
"Yeah, back when everything was normal." Cassie pulled back the covers as an invitation. "Mope with me."
"I thought you weren't moping." Elena said as she climbed into bed beside her best friend. After their phone call yesterday they reconciled their differences. From now on Cassie would be kept in the loop.
The blonde nawed on her bottom lip, closing the spell book, turning on her side so she faced her. "Was you mad at Isobel for giving you up?" She asked unexpectedly.
Elena was slightly taken aback by the unprompted question but answered it anyway. "At first," She confessed, "But I understand now. Isobel wanted me to have a good life, a life she couldn't give me. Because of her I had my parents, Jeremy – and a pretty amazing best friend. I wouldn't change it if I could."
Cassie silently nodded along with her words, "I am amazing, aren't I?" She grinned, making them laugh. "Do you think I'll ever meet my family?"
Now Elena understood what brought the question on. "You said Klaus told you that they live in Portland." She recalled, one arm wrapped around the pillow. "I think all it would take is a locator spell to narrow it down." Cassie pursed her lips, never considering that before. "We could always go up there — if you want."
