Haein trudged back to her room, her steps heavy with exhaustion. After placing the chair back in its spot, she sighed heavily and surveyed the room. She scrutinized her hands, worn from the day's cleaning, then glanced at her disheveled appearance.

Taking a deep breath, she murmured to herself, "Don't give up, Haein. You'll tear this house down and rebuild if it takes everything you have. But you have to stay here until your dad leaves Yeri."

Her resolve firm, she turned her attention to the bed where she spotted the dress Soomin had laid out for her. Its floral patterns clashed with her taste, and the cheap material made her cringe.

"What the hell is this? I can't wear it, ew,"

"Haein your sweet mommy is here."

Haein's fingers tightened around the doorknob as Soomin's voice pierced through the silence. Reluctantly, she opened the door, revealing Soomin's stern expression.

Jake's sister's gaze darted to the chair behind the door, her annoyance palpable. "Did you put this behind the door? I don't like such things. Doors open when I want them to."

"Why are you here?"

"I told you, your sweet mommy is here," Soomin replied, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

"Is it Yeri?"

"I don't know. I didn't ask for an ID. When you go down, you do the identification test and change your clothes. They'll say we're abusing you or something. Look, I gave you my best dress. Treat it well," Soomin said, her words laced with irritation.

Haein couldn't help but emit a scoff, earning a sharp glare from Soomin. "Yeah, thanks a lot, sister-in-law. By the way, tell Yeri I'm not here."

"I'm not your maid, young miss. You go downstairs and do whatever you want,"

Sighing the bride strode into the living room, her outfit drawing a surprised glance from Yeri, who refrained from commenting but looked visibly puzzled.

"Let's go to my room,"

Haein suggested, casting a glance around for approval from her father-in-law, who nodded in consent. They made their way into the room, where the atmosphere quickly turned tense.

"What are you doing here? Did father send you?" Haein's voice was sharp, cutting through the air.

"No, he didn't. I'm here for you,"

"Well, you saw the house and did your check-up. You can leave now,"

"You don't have to go that far, Haein. What are you doing around people like this?" Yeri began, attempting to reason with her, but Soomin's abrupt entrance disrupted the conversation.
