Author's POV.
Taehyung heard the door opening noise of the small camper van.
He was here to get some late night ramen. “Taebear, what are you doing here at this time? ” Jin asked entering the small kitchen area.
“Having some late night ramen, what 'bout you? ” Tae asked.
“I saw the lights were on so came to check if everything's fine ” he replied taking a seat beside Tae.
“Bear, you know something's bothering me lately and it's about you, can I ask you something? ” Jin said.
“Of course, you can anything to me” Tae replied.
“Tae, do you and...Jungkook um-uh have something y'know like a relationship? ” Jin asked hesitantly.
The question made Taehyung choke on ramen.
“N-no, wh-why did a-ask? ” he said coughing after each sentence. “Because during the campfire the way you both were staring at each other, anybody could think that you both are a couple ” Jin replied, controlling his laugh.
Tae blushed on that remark. ‘Do we really look like a couple?’ he thought to himself.
“The way you both were singing, it looked like that you both were dedicating that love song to each other ” Jin added.
“Hyung, y'know, for a moment, I could accept that I am in love with him or I dedicated that song to him but he, whatever happened, I don't think he would even think of loving me ” Tae said with a bitter chuckle. “Why, what happened between you two? ” Jin asked. Tae decided that his hyung deserved to know what happened between them and so he started to explain the terrible event that took place two years ago.
Two years ago
Tae was studying quietly in the library.
Suddenly he felt a presence beside him. He looked up and saw his favourite bunny smile.
“Hyungie~~ I missed you” Jungkook whined and back hugged the older. “Gosh, Koo! It's has been just 2 hours since we have not seen each other. Quit being dramatic. ” Taehyung said jokingly.
“It's not just 2 hours, it's 7200 sec! And I can't be apart from you more than 15 minutes. ” Jungkook said and pouted.
Taehyung silently cooed over the cute sight.
He can never be irritated of the younger's whining, he can never be bored of staring at him with loving eyes. ‘Gosh Kim Taehyung, you down so bad for your kookie ’ he thought to himself.
After their first meet, they became quite closer and as the time passed they both became inseparable to an extent where all their friends started to ship them together. Every girl of their school has accepted her fate that the two of the most handsome boys of the school can never be theirs as they are already each others. But whenever someone asked them what they were they always said that they are just friends. Obviously no one believed it. They both acted like a couple. They both use to go on hangouts or dates every weekend. Not to mention they were really very possessive of each other.
“So kookie, did you decided where are we going for our hangout this Saturday because I have everything planned out for Sunday. ” Taehyung said, lovingly stroking Jungkook's cheeks.
“Well this Saturday, we're not going somewhere very expensive and you might not like that place but I still want to take you to that place, so will you come? ” Jungkook asked nervously thinking about the answer of the older.
“Of course, kookie, I will enjoy at any place if I am with you ” he replied.
“Okay then, tomorrow at 5 sharp at that park where we always spent time.” Jungkook said happily and began packing his things to leave.
“Done! ” Tae replied with his boxy smile.
The next day
Right now it was 5:15 and Tae was waiting for Jungkook to arrive.
“Hyung! ” he heard a familiar voice.
“Oh well well, let me remember who told me yesterday that I have to come here at 5 sharp and the whole day reminded that I shouldn't be late. ” Tae jokingly taunted kook.
“Hyung! I am not late intentionally ” kook said.
“But still you are 15 minutes late ” Tae said. At this point he was just testing his patience.
“Y'know if you are just going to talk about this then bye, I don't want to go out with you ” Jungkook said and turned to leave.
“Kookie, I am sorry! ” Tae panicked and held his arms to stop him from leaving.
“Well I am just joking, now if you want then can we proceed to our destination, Mr Kim? ” Jungkook said with victorious smirk.
They both left on Jungkook's bike, chattering about few things.
When the bike stopped, Taehyung realised that they were in front of a small house. “It's my and my mother's house. Actually she wanted to meet you and was pestering me to bring you here so I decided to bring you here today for our weekend hangout. Hope you liked it ” Jungkook said. “Of course kookie, I loved it. ” Taehyung said truthfully. For some unknown reason he was feeling both nervous and excited for meeting Kook's mother.
Time skip
Right now they both were sitting on Jungkook's bed.
Tae's first meet with Jungkook's mother went quite well, she welcomed him warmly and treated him very politely and nicely. He was feeling more comfortable here than he could ever feel at his house. Though the younger's house was smaller than his and there were only Jungkook and his mother staying here but still Tae felt like for the first time in life he understood what it feels to have a home filled warmth instead of a four walled building.
They both sitting in a comfortable silence, both busy on their phones.
Tae was thinking it was the right time to ask out him the question which would determine his future actions.
“Kookie, y'know that we both always goes on a hangout or friendly date weekend, right ” Tae began. “Yes, what about that? ” Jungkook asked, diverting his attention from his mobile.
“I was thinking that would you like go on a real date not just friendly, with me, tomorrow? ” Tae asked, feeling nervous.
It took a moment for Jungkook to process it but once he understood what the older meant it didn't took a second for him to flash his infamous bunny smile. He said “I would love to, y'know you won't believe but I was also thinking about it that why don't we go on a real couple date”
Tae was beyond happy after hearing it.
He didn't waste a nanosecond to pull the ravenette into a embrace. They both stayed like that for god knows how much time.
