My eyes manage to open after barely getting any sleep. The night was cold and it's as if the universe knew the darkness that took action last night by from the strong and heavy winds. Me and Adam have experienced a lot together since the time we met but never have I seen him break down the way he did yesterday.

I don't blame him.

He lost his son in the most tragic way. I can't comprehend how quick death came to such a tiny individual who did no one any harm. Never did I think I liked kids until I met Adil. Some days I felt like me and Adam could have been a small family with him but that chance was never served to us. Adil showed me the love of a child.

And now he's gone.

Witnessing Adam break down made me see a side to him that most people would count as weak. But it wasn't to me. I saw his strength for enduring the love for a child that wasn't his. I saw a man.

A real man.

And that's why as his woman, I want to give him as much love as I can today and attempt to heal his heart. I turn on my side and move my arm over to press a palm onto his chest but instead it falls onto the white fabric of the bed sheets. I crease my brows at the realization that Adam's not in bed.

I sit up and see no sign of his presence in the bedroom which makes me slip my feet onto the floorboards and travel through the apartment in search for him.

It's then that I see a collection of guns placed on the kitchen island, all in different shapes and sizes which makes me widen my eyes at the sight of a few of them. My eyes later travel to the large man in front of me. Adam's wearing a tight fitted shirt that's gripped with an armed belt beneath his arms and over his shoulders. His cargos are equipped with all types of weapons that match the dark boots he's wearing.

Authority is a small word to describe the sight of this dominant man. He's so handsome.

Especially in this outfit.

Eventually his body turn around as he notices me standing behind him. Those red and tired eyes tell me that this is what he's been doing all night. "Adam?", I whisper with a look of concern as I step towards him. He places something down on the counter from his hand before I feel my body being lifted up like a child.

The feeling is whole as I wrap my legs around his waist and tuck my fingers into the softness of his hair. "Morning", He says in a croaky and serious voice. My eyes sink with sympathy. "Did you even sleep?", I ask.

"I couldn't. I had a lot on my mind", He responds with a sigh leaving him. My palms stroke his beard in a loving embrace as I take in his handsome features. The moment is sensitive as I drop my forehead on his and we take in our presence together.
