WARNING: GUN MENTIONS AND VIOLENCE

We strutted out of the courtroom with our dignity still intact. We did it. We didn't go to jail. I couldn't believe we were able to win a court case despite murdering somebody in broad daylight.

I had to give most of the credit to Lightning, who did all the talking during the case. He was right. He truly did have experience when it came to talking himself out of certain scenarios and going to court. Because of that idiot, we didn't get a life sentence.

"Hey, we gotta give the majority of props to Lightning. He did all the talking," I smiled and ruffled Lightning's hair.

"Eh, it's no big deal. I've done this too many times in the past," Lightning shrugged,

"Mind elaborating?" Liy asked with an eyebrow raised.

"I bet he went to court for some lame shit like stealing a candy bar or something," Tree sniggered.

"Nope, you would be wrong," Lightning smiled. "Wanna hear a story?"

"Hell yeah," I winked.

FLASHBACK: 20 YEARS AGO, APRIL

Spring break was here. Finally, I got to get a break from school. I could finally hang out with my friends and actually have some fun at last. Senior year had been a drag ever since August. Not even the other breaks in between satisfied my need for rest.

I biked home and opened the door to my house. My father was in his office finishing up some work.

"Hey! How was your last day of school before the break?" My dad asked while typing a paper.

"Hi, Dad, it was the usual. Boring," I rolled my eyes with a smile.

"That sucks. Well, get some rest and use your break time wisely. I have a paper to finish up," My dad smiled.

I left the room and pulled my phone out. I paced up the stairs, knowing exactly what I would do for the first day of break.

"Hello?" the voice on the other end of the phone called.

"Hey Stapy. Wanna hang out tonight? Maybe hit up the arcade?"

"I'm down. Should I invite the others? They're free too."

"Sure," I smiled.

"Alright, meet at the arcade at 6?" Stapy asked.

"Could we do 7? I'm tired as fuck from school, and I need a nap," I chuckled.

"Alright fine. I think you're just scared I'm better than you at arcade games," Stapy said.

"In your dreams. Speaking of dreams, I'm tired. I'll see you in a bit."

"Sounds good dude. Bye!"

I put the phone down on my nightstand, pulled the covers up, and drifted off to sleep. I had to get some good sleep before going to the arcade. The place had a pool table, and I wanted to show Stapy who was the boss.

One nap later...

I woke up and checked my phone. 6:30. I had thirty minutes to get to the arcade. The arcade wasn't too far from my house, as it would only take a mere fifteen minutes to bike there.

I jumped out of my bed and changed into some cool clothes for the arcade. I dashed down the stairs and saw my dad preparing dinner for tonight.

"Where are you going?" My dad asked with his eyebrow cocked.

"Oh, I'm headed to the arcade. Stapy wants to hang out," I smiled.

"Alright, would you still like me to prepare you some dinner?"
