Another day... another reason to live. Totally. I woke up once again, getting about two-ish hours of sleep. Man, these pills weren't doing shit. I had to try to find a new prescription, or I would actually die from sleep deprivation.
I got on my phone and started scrolling through social media, something I always did when I was bored.
My scrolling was soon interrupted by a knock at the door. I walked over to the door and swung the door open, not expecting to see who was on the other side. Jinn appeared at my door with a soft grin.
"Hey, sorry for disturbing you, but I'm all better. Also, Tree told me to tell you that he and everybody else are waiting outside for you, as they mentioned that there was something 'cool' for you to see."
"It's not a problem," I smiled. "Tell them I'll be there ASAP."
"You got it," Jinn nodded and left without a trace. I watched as he closed the door lightly and left me alone. I got ready for the day, but I was hungry as hell. Although I woke up at the latest, I hadn't eaten anything since yesterday, meaning I was starving. However, it was too late now, as my friends were waiting for me.
I paced out the door and went down the elevator with my backpack. Due to the unpredictability of this journey, I figured that bringing the backpack would always be a better idea. I plugged my headphones into my phone and started blasting some of my favorite hits.
I exited and ended up in the lobby. As I kept walking, I heard a faint voice.
"Bottle..."
I figured that I was just hearing things, but at the same time, the voice seemed real. Too real...
I ignored the voice and kept walking through the lobby to meet my friends in the front, but I heard the voice once more. This time, it was louder.
"BOTTLE!"
I whipped my head around with a terrified expression, expecting to see something unpleasant that I wouldn't wish to stare at.
My fear was cut short when I got a closer look and saw who it was. It was Liy. She was calling me from another part of the hotel, and I didn't notice.
"You scared me..." I exhaled a couple of times as I chuckled lightheartedly.
"Sorry," Liy apologized. "I was just calling you to tell you that we're going through the back since it's more practical as to where we're going today."
"I see. Are you going to tell me where we're going today?"
"I'll tell you outside. Now follow me," Liy urged.
I shrugged my shoulders and did as she said. I turned my music off and followed after the taller, perano-haired girl. She led me to the back door, where she exited carefully, being careful not to trip the fire alarm.
Upon walking outside, I was met with everybody waiting.
"Liy, why were you trying to be careful? Jinn already disabled it." Remote chuckled.
"Wha- how?" Liy asked with a cocked eyebrow in the air.
"Don't ask me," Remote laughed.
"Welp, I got Bottle for us. She overslept like usual," Liy joked around.
"Ha ha. Very funny," I sarcastically smiled.
"Cut her some slack. You know she has insomnia," Remote scolded Liy.
"Okay, mom."
We all walked outside, and Jinn led us over to one side of town, where the camels were parked. The walk was long, and I felt the intense heat beating down on my face as I walked through the desert sun. Being in the hotel for so damn long made me forget that we were still in a desert. Liy read out the temperature, implying that it was about 95 degrees Fahrenheit today, which was considerably cold for our area.
