Farewell

My fear quickly turned into anger when I heard Jungkook's voice. At first I was scared that these guys wanted to hurt me but after the phone call I realized that they just want to use me as bait to lure him out and suddenly I'm not concerned about myself anymore but about him instead. I wanted to tell him that I'm fine and that they just want to trap him but because of the adrenaline in my system, my voice was shaky and barely a whisper.

After Lisa told me that something urgent came up and that she wouldn't make it today, I decided to make a quick trip to the grocery store. Little did I know, that these guys were following me and cornered me in a deserted alley on my way back home. I immediately recognized them- they're the guys Jungkook beat up in front of my eyes the other day. My assumption that they're after revenge was confirmed as soon as they made the phone call.

I tried to run away but one of them is holding me tightly, preventing me from escaping his harsh grip.
Suddenly a car pulls over in high speed and stops abruptly in front of us.
The next second, Jungkook is approaching us with aggressive steps but stops immediately when he meets my eyes. Instead of anger and fierceness, there's something else in them-
Guilt.

He looks at me with apologetic eyes as if he's drowning in self remorse.
Just when I'm about to say something, the head of the kidnappers interrupts
"Well well well. So there really is a weakness of yours. Good to know", ge grins sheepishly.

Jungkook shifts his eyes towards the guys' and suddenly his gaze becomes emotionless and cold.

"What do you want"

By the sound of his voice I know that he's badly holding back which increases my adrenaline while a shiver runs down my spine.

"Revenge", he says taking a step closer to him,
"I dared you to a fight many times but you always rejected. That's not like you, so I wondered what happened to you. I was genuinely concerned for you", he mocks but his sarcasm just makes me cringe.

"Leave her alone. She has nothing to do with it", he looks at me intensely before going on "you wanted me and I'm here. So let her go now", his voice a few octaves lower than usual.

"Not until you fight me.
I mean, it's not the first time fighting in front of her", he reminds us of the day where Jungkook showed me his ruthless side. He apologized and promised me to not do it ever again. And I wish to not ever see it again, but here we are being trapped and forced to replay the event.

"No, I'm not going to do it", Jungkook gulps hardly, "I won't fight you. I won't fight ever again. You can go around and tell people you won against me, really, I don't mind. There are more important things in life", he locks his eyes with mine for a second, "than beating up people. I moved on"

The guy starts laughing bitterly and suddenly his expression changes into a disgusted one
"Please quit your peaceful and lovely act, it doesn't suit you. You are like this", he points at him and his friends, "a dirty street rat. You belong here and not to your delusional dream life. You know what? I'm not going to wait any longer."
With these words he fastly approachs Jungkook and hits him in the stomach. I gasp loudly at the sudden attack and tell him to stop but he goes for another punch and another. Jungkook on the other hand doesn't respond to the attacks. He just stays still, holding his stomach without defending himself. Seeing him like this breaks my heart into pieces, I can't breathe properly and the tears I was barely holding back start running down my face. I shout his name many times and try to run to him but one of the guys keeps pulling me back.

"C'mon Jeon, fight back!", the guy shouts and kicks him in the leg so he lands on his knees.

"JUNGKOOK", I scream with all my strength that's left and he immediately looks at me.
He quietly mumbles 'I'm sorry' but I just shake my heads signaling him that it's not his fault.
I know he's holding back because of me, because he promised me, because he doesn't want to scare me again but I can't just watch him get beaten up because of me.
"Fight back!!", I shout again catching him offguard.
He looks at me confused and says
"No.."
